Arrived with no reservations but they were able to accommodate the two of us for an early dinner on a rainy night. The pork chop special was one of the best pork dishes ever, appropriately spiced and with fresh cooked vegetables. The chocolate mousse is justifiably famous, with a subtle hint of pepper and somehow vegan. Warm service with a great sense of humor. And the owner came over and trimmed the fat off my pork chop, showing me that the inner edge was quite delicious and the way they eat it in France. Nice selection of wines.

A wonderfully quirky spot. The food was great, lots of unusual flavour combinations which tasted superb. Excellent service and very friendly

Very dissatisfying food. The restaurant looked very quirky so attracted us to go inside, sure enough it was very different including having a fully decorated Christmas tree with lights on in March.
We expected a high-quality food, but unfortunately it was completely the opposite. Both my husband and myself were not impressed with any of the food we ate. I had duck but it had gristle, never had duck with gristle before! My husband ordered the ham but was incredibly dry and less than ordinary. I could tell by the waiters, one of which I presume was the owner, we may be wrong, that they thought their food was of a high standard. One of the waiters had on luminous green trainers with wings! Yes wings. Nothing to do with the food I know.
Overall I would not come back to this restaurant and I would definitely NOT recommend it. The only good thing was the white wine which cost €36
I’ve been as honest as I can be.

Hospitality as it should be - despite arriving unannounced after 10 pm - warmly received, seated, and informed of menu… host recommendations exceeding expectations. Comfortable open and generous atmosphere. Perfect for a spontaneous authentic stop over on a French road trip through the Somme

What a fantastic place! I had to experience for myself what the hype was all about, and I was not disappointed.
The decor is great: a tasteful jumble of bric-a-brac, artfully wacky or downright antique , it creates a unique cosy atmosphere like nowhere else.
Service is very friendly and not without humour, and the food is absolutely fantastic.
The concept of the guests sharing the same delicious array of dishes-of-the-day worked out great for us.
It also means everything is freshly cooked and tastes amazing.
Dessert was to die for (we had a birthday to celebrate at our table, and the staff did not disappoint).
We couldn't quite finish the scrumptious banoffee pie and chocolate mousse, regretfully, and they insisted that we take home the left over dessert, in the dish it came in (we'd just bring the empty dish next time).
Simply fantastic.

Ail des Ours
This pleasant, trendy restaurant close to the cathedral is run by young chef Stéphane Bruyer. In a renovated dining space decorated in natural tones (with lots of plants), he serves simple, seasonal cuisine, using market produce to devise a single set menu (with a choice of fish or meat). This is a very popular spot in Amiens... and it's easy to see why.

Les Orfèvres
Bang in the middle of town, this restaurant sports a modern, pared-down, workshop interior and a friendly vibe. The menu is no stranger to the classics, albeit with the odd more modern touch. The chef avows a weakness for fish, illustrated by his superlative low-temperature loin of cod, honey-flavoured fermented milk, leeks and celery.

Hyacinthe
Previously active in the humanitarian sector, this chef found a new calling while being trained by mentors such as Cyril Lignac and Hélène Darroze. Remaining true to his ethos here in his vintage restaurant, he is mindful of the relationship between his cooking, nature and people, sourcing vegetables from the Hortillonnages (cultivated islets in Amiens), saltmarsh lamb from the Baie de Somme estuary, line-caught fish from the Côte d'Opale etc. Filet mignon pie, vegetable pickles or monkfish, tomato, aubergine and sea herbs: his – at times creative – dishes draw on various preparation techniques, good ingredients and flavours.
