This place was completely and totally FIRE. Seriously. Amazing. First we were like, ‘oh there’s no people here, is that a red flag’ because all other restaurants along the pier were packed. But we said ‘fuck it let’s go eat here’ and committed, sitting down as the only people at this restaurant. Our waiter gave us menus. We ordered a shrimp pasta dish. Then the true experience began. We were served a bowl with a wet wipe in it. I was confused—did the waiter think my hands were dirty? I was also confused because pasta isn’t finger food??? Anyway, our meal came quickly and the second that pasta dish hit our table, people started POURING into the restaurant. It filled up so fast and quick that the waiters had to set more tables out. The mussels in our dish were AMAZING, but the true difficulty was the shrimp: we didn’t know how to eat it. Context clues (the wet wipe) made us believe that this was where our hands came in. A French couple next to us started laughing as we were knuckle deep in our saucy shrimp, trying to open the suckers. When I looked embarrassed, the woman said “it’s okay, it’s not easy…” and then pointedly looked away from our sauce covered hands. But we were in too deep now. We mangled the shrimp in our hands, trying to eat the meat. It was so good. We polished off the pasta and felt satiated (but embarrassed because of our lack of familiarity with how to eat shrimp). When we left the restaurant, it was full of happy people eating delicious food. We googled how to eat shrimp and have been thoroughly educated now. It’s not easy. But choosing this restaurant can be… eat here during your stay in Cassis.

not really a vegan friendly place. i ordered a vegan salad, i payed the bill, but after waiting around 10 minutes they said they had no quinoa for it. i asked if they could make me a bruschetta instead, but just without feta and salmon as im vegan. after clarifying i was vegan around 3 times, still my order was with salmon. i’m really disappointed beyond words.

I visited this restaurant in September 2023. My partner decided to dine here while I preferred the poké nearby. The waitstaff kept asking my partner for “go be with your wife”, and “go try over there”. After more rude comments, it was clear that they did not welcome Black customers. People really do reflect society, but these things are never any less jarring. Look elsewhere

Les Belles Canailles
The view from the terrace of this luxury hotel restaurant (popular with celebrities), which looks out over Cap Canaille, is quite simply sublime. Chef Nicolas Sintes, who grew up in Cannes, serves his guests Mediterranean-inspired cuisine that has a focus on fish, but also features, for example, local lamb and seasonal vegetables. However, you may prefer to opt for the chef's down-to-earth speciality of bouillabaisse borgne, followed by a wild bass and its broth of pistou soup… All accompanied by a Cassis or Bandol wine, as you would expect. Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.

La Villa Madie
Nestling in Anse Corton, an unspoilt natural cove facing Cap Canaille, La Villa Madie is a beautiful contemporary building with a terrace, set in a dream location above the blue waters of the Mediterranean. Hailing from Normandy, chef Dimitri Droisneau has a CV to be reckoned with (La Tour d'Argent, Lucas Carton, Ambroisie); he fell in love with Provence, which serves as a constant source of inspiration. From dish to dish, his cuisine is light, subtle, flavoursome, fresh and aromatic, punchy when it needs to be, always surprising and original. All the magic of the South of France – produce from land and sea, its fish and herbs, wild and otherwise – is channelled to great effect in this cuisine. A case in point: the Carabineros prawn, red berry tartlet, in which the marriage of the iodine and saline of the shellfish with the fruit is in the realm of the celestial. Meanwhile, the charismatic sommelier has no shortage of savvy wine recommendations.

La Brasserie du Corton
The brasserie offshoot of Villa Madie continues to foster simplicity with its market-fresh ingredients and enticing surf and turf combinations. The set menus are different at lunch and dinner, as well as being changed on a weekly basis. Less expensive than at the original restaurant, the dishes here are just as tasty (beef tartare with Tamaris oysters, real Marseille sôcisse with fennel, lemon tart. When the weather is fine, head for the terrace, which commands a knockout view of the pretty bay.
