I really enjoyed this place, if you want to taste the local cuisine I highly recommend you going to this restaurant. We had the escargots which were amazing. We also had a tarte flambeé with figs and cheese and a salmon accompanied with alsace wine

Recommended this place by the host of the Airbnb we are staying in as she said it was their local eatery. She advised it was not touristy, the food was good and it wasn't overpriced. She was correct. We walked in without a reservation. The restaurant was already fairly full. We got shown to a table, brought two beers and when we ordered the food was brought out quickly with polite service. Portions were large and the quality great. Would recommend.

Beautiful house, better service and best food we had in Colmar!

But fist, lets talk about the "elephant in the room"

As I was looking for restaurants in Colmar, everything seamed to be quite close to the "city center", but the Cygne seamed to be quite "far away". This is not true. We needed 15 min from the Market hall to the Cygne and since we arrived there we knew that was the place we were looking for the last 3 days.

I am pretty sure we were the only Tourist in the place, which was completely packed (only the ground floor).

Before going there (we were already on our way to be truth) we called and asked if they had a table for two (engl. Was not a problem). On the arrival, we were offered a table on the little room to the right. We asked if we could rather sit on the main room and got the perfect table in there. As aperitive we had a nice Cremant rose and thank God the people on the table beside received their food before we ordered. We copied a part of their order ( beef queens something on a delicious cream) and we asked for the beef in shallots. The food was perfect! We had a coffee and some water.

After paying (53€ for everything) we asked if we could see the second floor of the building (since there were stairs everywhere). A very nice Waiter showed us the massive rooms upstairs and the nice wood work in the old house.

We had a great time and would not hesitate to come back. Next time a bit more pictures of the great location.

Cozy restaurant and a great value. We had foie gras, salad, steak with bone marrow, veal, and salmon—everything was good including the very-well priced wine. Waitstaff we’re all super helpful, even with our limited French. Would recommend
