We ordered set lunch and it was worth the money. The waitresses are friendly and managed to communicate in simple language. The started smoked salmon with cream cheeze spread on a biscuit is quite refreshing. The main course with fish with curry sauce with creamy mashed artichoke. Dessert is a not normal with tiramisu with baguette instead of lady fingers.
Very busy restaurant when we came at 1pm weekday. We made reservation for this visit

The best Saint-Jacques I've ever tried. Absolutely delicious. The lemon dessert 10/10.
The only thing that didn't sit well with me was the choice of music which ruined the atmosphere a bit for me. The inside of the restaurant is rather elegant/posh but the music blasting really loud from the speakers was JAY-Z and heavy rap. Why?

Went to here for lunch (17 euro) with my friend, from the outside, there are a lot of well dressed people as well as in the inside. The design inside the place is very well thought and surely it's meant to impress.
Now onto the food, in contrast with how beautiful and formal the restaurant is... The food was absolutely tasteless.
First, the entree of tartar, it didn't have any seasoning. Did they run out of salt and pepper?
I don't even understand, the green powder on top and the purple liquid they use on the tartar didn't contribute to anything. It tasted like eating raw chopped fish and the fish didn't smell like sea.
Main dish was pêche with radish and mushrooms, and it was exactly that, radish and mushroom taste, no herbs, no innovation, nothing.
Even though they remember to put salt for the main meal, the fish was VERY DRY. White foam and oil in the dish are for decoration purposes as they taste like NOTHING.
You can seriously make these 2 dishes at your own home.
Both entree and plat was served with a piece of cheap bread (very airy and dry) for each person. I even had the end of the bread (seriously, even supermarket bread is better than this). Considering that there is a jar full of this bread, this is the same bread served for dinner menu. How could an expensive restaurant serve this kind of bread? It doesn't make sense to me.
The only thing that was good about this restaurant was the decor, the service (very attentive and friendly), the waiter and waitress are very proper and well dressed.
This is the second seafood restaurant in Rennes that turns out very disappointing. With this i conclude to not go to seafood restaurant anymore in Rennes.
You can definitely go here if you eat ONLY ambiance instead of foods, me personally i still need food to stay alive, good food.

I think it will be difficult to have bad food in Rennes it seems. Great food. Great service. Can’t go wrong if you like seafood. Dessert was ok but my scallops were delicious.

Bombance
The name hints at an abundance of food, drink and fun with friends, a promise that is kept within the stone walls of this bistro with an open kitchen and a few seats at the counter. From 5pm, you can wash down plates to share with a biodynamic or natural wine from the appealing wine list. From 7pm, you can choose from a menu-carte: roast pak choi, paprika sabayon and roasted hazelnut; skate wing, citrus butter, cream of celery, smoked Jerusalem artichoke, chestnuts and a langoustine jus. Very well cooked and seasoned with pizzazz and skill, each dish is packed with fresh ingredients.

Imayoko
This is the sister restaurant of chef Julien Lemarié's MICHELIN-starred Japanese-style restaurant (IMA). At lunchtime, in a relaxed atmosphere, you can enjoy a variety of Japanese donburi – a bowl of rice with toppings that vary according to the season or inspiration. In the evening, French dishes are skilfully revisited with a Japanese touch, such as leeks with miso and katsuobushi vinaigrette. The service comes with a smile!

La Petite Ourse
At this restaurant, Charlotte is in charge front of house while Germain cooks up good, generous food made with quality regional – and mainly organic – ingredients. Without sidelining poultry or fish, vegetables do take centre stage: white asparagus, sunflower seed praline and preserved lemon; steamed egg, buckwheat cream, roasted vegetable juice and chard stalks; fennel vanilla cake, lemon cream and preserved orange zest. Reservations are essential, as the people of Rennes have realised they are on to a good thing, with reasonable prices to boot!

Le Paris-Brest
The new Rennes train station chose an emblematic Breton chef to reinvent its station restaurant: Christian Le Squer, chef of the three-star restaurant Le Cinq at the Four Seasons Paris. He playfully revisits the traditional cuisine he grew up with, adding contemporary touches. A combination of design (by Jouin Manku studio), bistronomy and a wine list curated by Eric Beaumard (Breton sommelier). You're in for a treat if you stop off here.
