Bistrot des Alpilles offers decent food, though nothing particularly memorable. We started with salmon gravlax paired with citrus and hummus, as well as a watermelon and buffalo mozzarella salad. Both were okay but lacked any standout flavours.
For the mains, we had tuna sashimi and salmon with aubergine, which were also just average. Dessert included a chocolate fondue with pistachio sauce, which was nice, and a tiramisu that tasted more like cheesecake.
Overall, the food was fine but lacked any "wow" factor. The experience felt rushed, with the restaurant seeming more focused on turning tables quickly rather than providing a relaxed dining experience.

Wonderful restaurant in St Remy de Provence. Plat de jour options good.
Edit a year later- still excellent!

The servers were so kind and accommodating. Drinks were great and the burger and fries hit the spot.

We ate there several times during our stay in St Remy because we didn't like it anywhere else as much. The service staff are totally attentive and friendly, and also totally sweet to our toddler.
A high chair was brought immediately and special requests were catered for. The food always arrived quickly and was excellent every time. The portions were absolutely sufficient for lunch. The menu of the day was very varied. The price was a little on the high side, but normal for France.
We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

Restaurant de Tourrel
It was within the walls of this splendid mansion that Charles Gounod played the first bars of his opera, Mireille, to the Provençal author Frédéric Mistral, who wrote the libretto. Today, in an attractive retro-style dining room with the occasional Art Deco touch, guests can sample a culinary score inspired by the region’s finest ingredients, including outdoor Provence tomatoes, Mediterranean squid and crayfish, and lamb from Crau.

Chapeau de Paille - Bistrot Provençal
Bourvil and Piaf can be heard in the background and straw hats adorn the walls in this cheerful flea market ambience! This rustic, Provençal bistro, located on the town’s ring road, concocts a seasonal menu with an emphasis on market-fresh ingredients: pork terrine, escabeche, aïoli, rib of Camargue bull, quails flambeed in pastis…

L'Auberge de Saint-Rémy - Fanny Rey & Jonathan Wahid
Chef Fanny Rey is at the helm of this grand old Auberge located on the beltway and the old ramparts of this pretty town. She cooks up tasty market cuisine that spotlights Alpilles produce beautifully. By her side is her partner Jonathan Wahid (brother of Sylvestre), an experienced pastry chef and previous French dessert champion – he knows just how to showcase the delicious sun-drenched produce of the South, such as figs. The food is served in a designer interior: white ceiling imitating a wave, and bare stone walls.
