I am really torn. This place looks and feels amazing but... there are so many buts. First of all, the table setting and chairs are not functional or comfortable. Second of all, the food is somewhat of a let down. Creative, but kind of blunt and tasteless. The staff is amazingly nice, but there are not enough of them to properly serve that many tables. Altogether, a nice place to visit, especially in the evening, as the atmosphere is one of a kind, but I would not be eager to go back.

Nestled among ancient ruins, Songes feels like a dream—especially under the vast, starry night sky. The ambiance alone is worth the visit, but the real magic happens on your plate.

Every dish is a delightful surprise, blending creativity with tradition. The menu feels like a carefully curated story, with each course offering a new and unexpected taste.

But what truly sets the restaurant apart is the incredible team behind it. The chef turns ingredients into art, and the entire crew exudes warmth and hospitality.

If you're looking for a dining experience that captivates all your senses, Songes is the place to be.

Atmosphere is great. Food is a letdown. 32€ for 2 mini lamb peaces. Bottle of wine Alpilles Blanc - Mas de Gourgonnier - 46€, while producer sells it for 10,50€. Pricing does not reflect the quality. Would not return nor recommend it.

I could wax poetic about the experience of "dining in the ruins" but sadly, the execution was lacking. Sure, the setting was on the "magical" side but compromised by mediocre service, a limited menu and prices on the high end. Either our waiter was inexperienced or they were short staffed, resulting in service that was not what it could have been. Only one (sweet) white wine available by the glass, water never offered (to our table) & food that was fine but not especially noteworthy.

if you are searching for gustatory nirvana with white glove service, this is not the place ... but if you're looking for an interesting and different dining experience, give it a try.

Really nice ambiance, strong service and good food (relatively pricey). Try the börek!
