Saint-Martin-Vésubie

The charming village of Saint Martin Vésubie is a medieval town located at the foothills of the Mercantour National Park. At 975 meters above sea-level, the village offers spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and, on a clear day, the southern Cote d'Azur.  Nature enthusiasts and seasoned-hikers alike will delight at Saint Martin Vésubie's landscape. During the summer months, the town is blessed with warm weather and rolling pastures, which allow for endless hiking and rock climbing excursions. In the winter, the town, which was once adorned with bright flowers, turns into a luxury ski-resort, and chalets become dusted in snow.  Saint Martin Vesubie is also used as a base for exploring the Alpes Maritimes and the nearby Mercantour National Park. The highest peak in the region, Le Gelas, is one of the most popular hiking routes in southern France. However, Saint Martin Vésubie isn't just for outdoor enthusiasts; it's also a popular destination with historians and culture vultures. The Old Town is home to impressive 18th-century churches, a 15th-century chapel, and a Romanesque bell tower still largely intact.

Plane ToursPlane Tours

At FranceRent, we work with a handful of exclusive hosts who provide scenic plane tours along the French Riviera.  Our hosts offer a variety of tours ranging in duration from one hour to one-day excursions. For example, the one-hour Esterel tour takes you above Cannes and out over the peninsula's mountainous region. This tour costs around €140/person. Alternatively, embark on a full-day excursion in a private plane from Cannes to Corsica, one of the most beautiful French islands. You'll have time to explore Corsica's Old Town and the Fort of Calvi on foot before returning to Cannes. This tour costs around €250/person and has a duration of three to six hours. Those who enjoy exploring inland might consider the Gorges du Verdon plane tour. This tour heads away from the Riviera and north into the mountain towns found in the Canyon du Verdon. The one-hour flight costs around €170/person.
