Stop atMirepoix
Our first stop is Mirepoix, a beautiful medieval village dating from the 10th century. The large central square is flanked by a magnificent covered arcade, created by half timbered houses supported on wooden pillars.

Stop atChateau De Montsegur
We then drive to the Château de Montségur, where the last stake of the Crusade against the Cathars occured in the 13th century. We then spend a relaxing lunch, enjoying the local cuisine.

Stop atCamon
Next stop is for a relaxing walk in Camon, picturesque medieval village, classified amongst the most beauftiful villages of France, it is also known for its hundreds rose trees that are perfuming and decorating the streets. Camon was founded around a Benedictine abbey in the Xth century.

Olivia was extremely accommodating with a change in our schedule. She was very knowledgeable about the area and her English was incredible! We appreciated the time she took to explain everything to our family.

This was a Brilliant Tour from start to finish and I very strongly recommend it to anyone who has a love of Stunning Castles, Beautiful Countryside and Excellent French Food! Olivia was a superb and caring guide throughout and was not only highly knowledgeable about the local history but also used an energetic and wonderfully easy-to-understand presentational style when telling us all about it. Olivia nous a fait découvrir les châteaux cathares de Montségur et de Puivert. Le premier est perché sur un relief à plus de 1000 mètres et offre des vues époustouflantes sur le paysage environnant des Pyrénées. Riche d'histoire, il a fait l'objet d'un siège contre les cathares, à l'issue tragique. Le deuxième, bien conservé dans ses espaces intérieurs, est un beau, mélancolique témoignage de l'amour courtois, ainsi que lieu de tournage de plusieurs films. Olivia nous a accompagnés avec des explications toujours riches, pertinentes, de la bonne humeur et une excellente organisation. Après la visite des deux châteaux, nous avons fait une halte dans le pittoresque village médiéval de Mirepoix. Des lieux difficilement accessibles pour quelqu'un qui ne connaît pas la région et qu'il vaut la peine de découvrir avec un guide si compétent et agréable!

Excursion agréable et intéressante en compagnie d'une guide qui connait bien son sujet et est attentionnée pour ses clients. Des souvenirs inoubliables de lieux chargés d'histoire et de paysages pittoresques. Excursion à vivre et sûrement d'autres qu'elle offre.
