Flexible and Child-Friendly Tour
V93OOlauras, Sep 2019
We had a great time in Versailles with Chloe. Her flexibility was very much appreciated since we were traveling with four children!
Versaille tour with young kids
Peepsluv, May 2019
I was part of a group of three families that came to Paris over Spring Break. Combined, we have 9 children between the ages of 8 years and 6 months. When we were planning the trip, we knew that the kids would enjoy seeing a real palace, but we also heard that the crowds are crazy and we didn't want the kids to melt down in the long lines. Fortunately, I found ParisToursWithKids.com and set up a guided tour.
We were matched with Agathe, who was knowledgable, fun and engaging. She met us in Paris at a station where we already had tickets to get us to Versaille. We rode the train together and had about 30 mins to chat before the tour started. Once there, she sent us off to the restroom and to get water and food, while she made arrangements for us to enter the palace with her.
The lines to get in, even for those with tickets, was like waiting for a new ride at Disneyland on a Saturday. If we hadn't been with her, I'm certain we would have taken a picture in front of the gates and headed back to the train station.
The tour was about 3 hours in total. Initially, my understanding was that she would take us through the gardens for the tour and then take us to the entrance to the palace where we could visit at our leisure. Instead, she walked us through the palace and left us to explore the gardens on our own. I'm so glad it worked out this way. With so many young kids, all they wanted to do was run through the gardens and I think it would have been extremely difficult to keep their attention outdoors. Instead, she kept them totally focused throughout the rooms of the palace telling them stories and asking then to find images in the paintings. They had a great time and we all learned fun facts.
Overall, Agathe was organized and a pleasure to be with. If you want to bring kids to Versaille, I highly recommend booking this tour.
