Great food and quick service. I think it may be best to reserve a table, but there may be a good chance that they'll be able to fit you in if you don't have one. Servers were great and we found an understanding even though I don't speak French. Good was wonderful and filling, just what you want. Came with bread rolls to soak up wonderful sauce

Ordered two dishes and both were good. Only drawback is that the oysters were not opened properly leaving lots of shells inside, got to take out the small pieces by ourselves carefully so as not to swallow them.
Other than that, it was fresh and clean. Mussels as well, big portion and great price.
Service-wise, won’t expect anything in France as it’s like a norm to not having top notch service - perhaps it’s because I don’t speak French and they don’t speak English ?

The overall experience was good. We came for the sea food and Brasserie de la Mer offered a good variety from starters to mains. We ordered 3 Amiral menus with selections of seafood bouillon, salmon terrine and salmon tartare with avocado. All are lovely in tastes and beautifully presented. The bouillon has a touch of Asia with flavorful curry. For the mains, we had grilled seabass, salmon in Thai sauce strongly flavored with fish sauce and too salty for my taste, and juicy flank steak. Desserts are on the sweet side. Kid's meal could do better with additional portion of vegetables and should include a drink at the charged price.
Service was overall quick and staffs were friendly and nice. Except for one welcoming waitress, rather disrespectful but that did not affect our evening and the overall service and food quality deserved our full stars.

Excellent food choices. Mussels are there speciality. Fish soup was great. Lobster was cold - not perfect- like was boiled and kept in the fridge for day or two… but maybe it is how they serve it in France?) Oysters are also great

Located in a quiet town of Calais lyes a hidden gem of a seafood restaurant.
Unsurpassing my wildest expectations for the quality of the seafood and the price paid.
I am now readily looking forward to further delays on my ferry departures .

Le Channel
This is a pleasant spot to eat before crossing the Channel. It has an elegant decor, classic cuisine, seafood, and a fine wine list (cellar opens onto restaurant).

Aquar'aile
This pleasant top-floor restaurant boasts a peerless panoramic view over the Strait of Dover and the English coast… it is like something you would expect to see in a painting! The food showcases locally caught fish: lobster casserole, sea bass in a salt crust, sole meunière. To be washed down with a good wine chosen from a list carefully curated by the proprietor.

Le Grand Bleu
The chef, Matthieu Colin, puts the experience he gained in Michelin-starred establishments to good use. In a lovely contemporary interior, he continues to pay tribute to local fishing, but also brings local produce into creative dishes that thrive on originality: cod with seafood condiments, grapefruit, crozets, spiced fennel. Friendly and efficient service.

Histoire Ancienne
This bistro channels an authentic vintage spirit, with its banquette seating, mirrors and Art Deco-style posters. Patrick Comte is at the helm, still cooking up his tasty take on traditional seasonal dishes: snail persillade, corn royale, jus à la bourguignonne; tender veal chop, tarragon mustard cream… Generous cooking is the name of the game!
