The pizzas are very good. But the service was a little bit bad. We were eight and they refused to put two tables together, even though it was totally possible.
They also refused to give butter for the bread, even though it is impossible for a pizzaria to not have butter.

Just walked into this place at 7 pm in the shopping centre plaza at Joué and they were still setting some of the tables. But we were quickly attended to and seated by the window facing the setting sun. The 2 female staff who looked after us were cheerful and efficient. We were given breadsticks and tomato tapenade before a large pizza and a milanese risotto which were both surprisingly good. There was grated parmesan on the table which was a another nice touch. I had a lovely craft Italian beer to wash it all down.

Unfortunately we were quite disappointed having chosen this restaurant for our new years eve meal. First of all, when we got there there was a 20 minute wait in the freezing cold (even though we had a reservation). When we were finally seated, we waited 30 minutes to be able to order and get water. It took another 30 minutes to get the first course. After the first course, it took another hour to get our meal, which unfortunately was not good at all. The pasta was very overcooked, and the sauce was simply inedible and bland. After trying to get someone's attention to change the dish for 30 minutes with no success, we decided to leave as it was already 23h30 and we were still very hungry. (2 servers were chatting with a couple next to our table for 15 minutes each even though service was considerably slow, they should have been trying to help speed things up instead of chatting so long). The only reason I put 2 stars instead of 1 is because the manager then gave us a 20% discount and served us very quickly after that. I still didn't get a meal though, just appetizers and dessert. So to pay 100 euros for this (instead of 125) was still a big disappointment. 2 years ago I went here and there was a large piece of plastic in my pasta. Needless to say, I would choose another restaurant to go to in Tours there are plenty that have much better food and service.

I came 3 times before and it was 3 times disappointing for various reasons. Since it was a few months ago, I thought I would give it a try again. Well, that is definitely the last time. Lesson learned.
First of all, there is absolutely no sense of customer service upon arrival. Each time I have arrived and waited several minutes with various waiters/waitresses and managers around me with absolutely no one saying hello or else. It didn’t really get better after as it seems there is a policy to prevent staff from smiling or being nice. This time a waiter skipped me while I was waiting, so he could just greets people/friends he knew behind me, without even acknowledging I was there.
Secondly, I ordered online for a pick up and the first available pick up time was 8 pm. Got there by 7:50 pm: my order was ready (seems like it’s been for a while) and it was completely cold. It didn’t seem to bother anyone to give it to me like this. Since it was a pizza, I’m sure it would not be so difficult to either let know the customer his order is ready or to keep it warm… thanks for the cold meal guys! Last time I did also order online and when I got there they actually “did not notice there was an order” so I had to wait for them to make it. At least it was hot, even if I had to wait an extra 30 minutes with 0 apologies nor gesture (not even a glass of water).
Lastly, when I asked if the pizza was sliced, I felt like asking for the biggest thing I could possibly demand. Since it was not, it was brought back to the kitchen for this with a manager clearly showing he was not happy to have to deal with this.
Bye guys and I’m sure investing into training of your staff would be a great added value.

A zen and minimalist interior all done out in pale wood sets the scene for traditional, seasonal Japanese cuisine that stands out for its fresh, unusual flavours: assortment of cold starters and tempura of the day, chirashi (traditional dish of raw fish), a hot dish of the day and miso soup. Booking essential.

O&A
At this pleasant 21C bistro opposite the Halles de Tours (the city's covered market), good food and relaxation reign supreme. Foodies, take note: there's no fuss or frills, just sincere, precise and generous cuisine (with butter!) that celebrates quality ingredients and authentic flavours. Examples include foie gras ravioli, truffle broth; seared scallops, watercress cream, a delicious hazelnut butter, lemon-flavoured potatoes; warm chocolate mousse, fleur de sel cookie chips. The food reflects the personality of chef-patron Olivier Arlot, a real people person who comes to every table to serve a dish or two, spreading good humour and smiles. The extensive wine list makes for rich pickings (including Loire and Burgundy labels).

La Roche Le Roy
This pretty little manor house on the outskirts of town has recently been refurbished and modernised, all the way from the decoration to the kitchens, the domain of chef Maximilien Bridier. Taking an enthusiastic approach to high-quality ingredients, he presents elegant, precise dishes with no frills. Without fail, the menu features a vegetarian option. There is a fine selection of wines by the glass, and the service is attentive. Sit out on the terrace on warm days.

Maison Colbert
Welcome to this friendly bistro right in the city centre, which fills up quickly with diners keen to sample tasty and aromatic market-fresh cuisine. On our visit, confit beef chuck cooked in Chinon wine and served with crushed potatoes; and vol-au-vent with poulette sauce graced the menu… This is clearly a chef who knows his way around the classics.

Les Bartavelles
Devoted to pleasure! First-rate, often local produce: smoked trout from the Moulin des Couvent or Touraine asparagus. Ingredients with crisp, legible flavours, such as rack of roast lamb, cocoa flavouring, roast fennel, potatoes and mushrooms. Chef Ghislain Damaye and his sister Véronique, who tends to the wellbeing of the front of house, pay tribute to the memory of French novelist Marcel Pagnol, in their smart, city centre bistro, courtesy of an ethos that seeks to share their love of good food.
