Smoking in queues, not great for hidden disabilities
kated246, Dec 2024
First time visitors from the UK - Tickets bought online at the beginning of August. The shows themselves were spectacular. The reason for the poor rating - the small things which could be done 💯 better .
To start - the online ticketing system needs to be improved. My daughter would have been entitled to a disabled ticket - there is no way currently ( that I could see ) of purchasing this directly online. The website tells you to call Puy De Fou for the disabled discount to be applied - not practicable for international visitors. The phone call alone would have cost more than any discount .
Puy De Fou caters for the physically disabled. However - if you are visiting with someone who is neurodivergent- unless you are prepared, it is a different experience and not pleasant. We struggled with the immersive experiences and with aspects of the shows. As everything is in French - I couldn’t tell you if there were any warnings about this. It seems that they don’t cater well for the non French speakers - it could just be as simple, as a small sign in English /german warning of loud noise /lights etc
No issues yesterday with parking / security / admission to the park which was great. At the entrance - a big stand with guide / maps for the site. All of these were in French - despite it being advertised that English & German guides should also be available. Luckily - we only needed this for the showtimes and general map., so we were able to muddle through. We weren’t able to download the app - due to all 4 UK mobiles being on 3G signal and terrible WiFi in the park itself - looking back - it would have been better to do this beforehand.
You join the ‘queue’ for the show in question either 15/30 minutes before the start time. It’s not a queue - it’s being herded into a waiting area and then being pushed along like cattle until you finally make it into the arena . There seems to be no consistency/ system as to how this works - for every show that we saw - we were there at the beginning of the allotted queuing time, only to find that it was very nearly already full.
I have a major problem with how openly visitors were smoking / vaping in not just the queue - but also many areas of the park . Puy De Fou’s standard answer in previous reviews is that smoking is not allowed in the queues - yet they were again making no effort to stop it.
There’s also a need for more toilet facilities- after any show finished - there were huge queues at the nearest bathrooms.
Unfortunately - I wouldn’t go back - which is a shame because the shows / attractions themselves were spectacular and it would have been nice to be able to see more. As a family though - it was just all to difficult and a real shame that they don’t cater for those with hidden disabilities and their non French speaking guests better
Wonderful day trip

The whole day was a wonderful experience. All of the shows were very good very professional and option to listen in English was very good too.
There was some long queuing required but this did not detract from the experience. Good parking and excellent food options.
Could have done with options to refill drinking water as due to heat 28 degrees used too much plastic to keep hydrated.
Great Shows, awful food and service
VictoriaLS1978, Dec 2024
Just home from a day at Puy du Fou and what a selection of amazing shows the team put on. We loved the Les Viking show but the Le Bal des Osieaux show is unmissable, a real spectacular.
However, two things spoilt our day. Firstly, the food outlet. We ordered our food for collection at Rendez Vous and arrived when told it was ready to be met with a further 20minute wait. The food was cold and chips were inedible so I took them back. The girl serving on the counter grunted at me and threw them in the bin. I waited a further 15 minutes thinking they would be replaced but after being ignored for the whole wait, we had to leave to make the last show. €16 on chips we never got to eat.
Secondly, the wifi in the park is awful so you cannot access the english translation to understand the stories. Very frustrating when you want to engage your children fully in the show.
A great day out

Recommended by friends to visit and was not disappointed. During the day we managed to visit nearly every area, in spite of it being the height of the Summer, but the first show we watched was worth the entrance fee and more. Imagine as a finale of the show 200 birds of prey flying above your heads almost within touching distance! Really breathtaking. A great day out and not to be missed if you are in the area.
Amazing huge and spectacular

Awesome theme park, honestly how had I never heard of this place. It was forecast to rain so we needed a trip away from the beaches and we drove from St Jean Martin (1 hour 40). It was well worth it. The park is a series of theatrical event set across a beautiful planted site. There theatrical shows run in 20 venues and range from a colleseum to the trenches of world war 1. You find a show you like and walk to it at least 30 mins before it starts. Then you watch shows of french history but with magic tricks, lots of surprises, pyrotechnics and stunts. The scale of the sets is impressive with rivers castles and trained birds. It's impossible to see it all in one day but you will see plenty. I recommend the Triumph, The Knights of the Round Table and the Vikings.
When you get there it feels like chaos as everyone arrives and tries to rush to shows, Relax there is plenty on and use their app to plan your movements.
The shows are in French but you can listen to translations in the app however we didn't bother being able to follow the action with understanding all the script each show is more a visual treat than a dialogue to follow. English is widely spoken if you worry about communication
