Stop atBiarritz
Take the coastal road to discover one of the most beautiful parts of our coastline, where every kilometre is different! From the heights of Biarritz, we start with a remarkable view of the famous "côte des basques" beach, where surfing arrived thanks to an American screenwriter who came to make an adaptation of a Hemingway novel.
40 minutes (approx.)・No admission tickets required
Pass byBidart
We'll then move on to the neighboring village of Bidart, the perfect representation of the typical Basque village, with its church, pediment and town hall, giving your guide the opportunity to explain Basque social organization and the peculiarities of our churches. A captivating view of the coast will also delight lovers of wide open spaces!
Stop atSaint-Jean-de-Luz
The major stage at Saint Jean de Luz will be approached with a walk on a hill overlooking this magnificent bay and offering breathtaking views. If walking isn't for you, you'll have easy access to a viewpoint. The tour of the town center includes the beach, pedestrian and shopping streets, the fishing port and sumptuous 17th- century shipowners' houses. Your guide will reveal many themes: whaling, wealthy shipowners, the era of privateers, the marriage of Louis XIV, Naploéon III's reorganization of the town, the development of tourism and Art Deco treasures.

Stop atHondarribia
We'll head for the border to enjoy the charm of our beautiful Spanish neighbor, Fontarrabie. A medieval town rich in history, with fortifications, Charles V's castle, pedestrian streets and a fishermen's quarter with famous Pintxos (Basque tapas) bars. A visit to a Txakoli winery is also an option: a dry white wine from the Basque region, produced in vineyards perched high above the villages of Getaria (Spain) and Fontarrabie, has the particularity of being slightly fizzy, and is served by raising and lowering the bottle above the glass to aerate it generously. The vineyards on the hills facing the ocean benefit from the sea spray, which gives it a unique flavor! Serve chilled with fish and seafood hors d'oeuvres, and delicious with salted anchovies and tuna in oil.
