After lunch, your guide will take you to Grand Trianon, which was used like private palace by Louis XIV. As with time the main palace became very busy, the Sun King wanted another place to escape from the crowds. And so became Grand Trianon, made from pastel-pink marble.

Versailles and Petit Trianon were amazing but most amazing was our guide - Julian. He was very very knowledgeable, professional and a great companion for the day. We have been on a lot of guided tours and we thought he was one of the best we've every had!
Great Versailles tour

Sylvan picked our 3 generation family of 8 up at hotel in Paris and drove us to Versailles for our tour. He was able to get us in fairly quickly and gave us a great tour around the Palace. He is very knowledgeable about the history and art, and engaged our 4 teen grandchildren with questions, which we enjoyed too! He got us out in time to see the fountains before they stopped at noon. He was very flexible with asking what we wanted to see of the outer buildings, and lead us on a walk around the woods and to the village farm. Very enjoyable and more than we would have seen on our own. Thank you Sylvan!
