Stop atChateauneuf-du-Pape
The AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape is an internationally famous wine. An exceptional region The Châteauneuf-du-Pape region enjoys a wide range of soils, and particularly large rolled pebbles (diluvium alpin) above red clay, allowing the grapes to reach a very high degree of maturity. Well aware of the value of their heritage, the winemakers of Châteauneuf-du-Pape have committed themselves over the past few years to an approach aiming at defining and reinforcing the identity of their appellation, particularly through the different local areas and the diversity of grape varieties.

Best wine tasting
312kay, Dec 2024
Our guide Ann is the best! She shares local knowledge about the wine and area, also insight about Avignon and life and culture here. All people i met at winery are down to earth, you just know their focus is really just about wine snd not seeing wine as one small part of big entertainment. Renaud from Le boutiniere is 4 months into the job, bit you can see he is making every effort there. I totally enjoyed this tour, best wine tasting!
Wine tasting near Avignon

Anne gave a great tour! Tons of interesting information on the region, tours of wines, soil, history and much more. We went to three wineries, a chocolate store and stopped a few times for pictures along the way! It was the perfect day. We actually stayed in Arles and took the train to Avignon. Very easy to do. Doing the half day tour is a must!

Thank you very much for this nice review.
It was indeed a lovely day.
A little pricey for what it is, what you see but pleasant enough.

We were lucky enough to be on the tour during the festival in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and our guide helped us make the most of it!

The air conditioned ride and guide were nice, but other than that, it was very disappointing. The tour is advertised as including 3 winery visits, but instead guests are taken to 3 wine shops that essentially promote their own brand! Nothing quaint or romantic about the experience 🙄 There’s some level of education but you can easily Google the information for free. Would not recommend it.

I’m sorry you did not enjoy our wine tour. We make a point to teach you a lot of things about the wines of the cote du Rhone. Most of the boutique wineries in Chateauneuf du Pape are not equipped to welcome visitors so they prefer to organise the wine tasting in a nice setting (14th century former cellars) in the village instead.
Great tour, good value

Prompt pick up, visited two beautiful villages (Gigondas, Chateauneuf du Pape), sampled 18 wines, really impressed by the knowledge of the wine merchants and of our lovely guide and driver Natalie
