    Stop atArromanches-les-Bains

Your driver will take you to Arromanches-les-Bains. It was on this beach that, during the Battle of Normandy, immediately after D-Day on June 6th, 1944, the Allies established Mulberry B, a temporary artificial harbor designed to allow the landing of heavy equipment without waiting for the capture of deep-water ports such as Le Havre or Cherbourg (Cherbourg-en-Cotentin since 2016). Although located in the center of the Gold Beach landing area, Arromanches was spared the worst of the fighting on D-Day. To enable the rapid installation and proper functioning of the harbor, the beach needed to remain intact and the surrounding communication routes preserved. British troops therefore landed farther east, between Asnelles and Ver-sur-Mer, and liberated Arromanches by land on the evening of June 6th. The harbor was put into operation on June 14th.

    Stop atLongues-sur-Mer

The Longues-sur-Mer battery is one of the artillery batteries of the Atlantic Wall, located in the coastal commune of Longues-sur-Mer in the Calvados region. The site consisted of four long-range 150 mm naval guns, each protected by a reinforced concrete casemate, along with various installations used to operate and defend them. Situated in the Allied Normandy landing zone, between Omaha Beach and Gold Beach, the battery was subjected to intense aerial and then naval bombardment, preventing it from fully engaging on D-Day. It was captured the following day by British troops. Listed as a Historic Monument, it is in a very good state of preservation. The site is open to visitors and has become a popular stop during tours of the D-Day landing sites.

    Stop atPort-en-Bessin-Huppain

*This stop may be excluded if your guide estimates that there is not enough time left.* Liberated on June 8th, 1944 by the 47th Royal Marines Commando during Operation Overlord, Port-en-Bessin became, as early as June 16th, the central hub of a pipeline network of approximately 120 km designed to supply the Allied armies with fuel. By the end of August 1944, this system was expanded through Operation PLUTO, which involved laying underwater pipelines between the Isle of Wight and Querqueville near Cherbourg.

30 minutes (approx.)No admission tickets required

    Stop atOmaha Beach

*This stop may be excluded if your guide estimates that there is not enough time left.* Omaha Beach remains one of the most iconic D-Day landing sites, holding undeniable historical significance. Here, you will stand on the very sands where thousands of American soldiers bravely landed amid intense gunfire and artillery barrages. Your guide will share moving accounts of the challenges the soldiers faced during this fierce battle. As you walk along the beach, take a moment to honor the memorials and reflect on the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought here.

30 minutes (approx.)No admission tickets required

    Stop atNormandy American Cemetery

The Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, perched on a cliff overlooking Omaha Beach, offers a poignant and deeply moving tribute to the fallen soldiers. As you walk among the rows of white marble crosses and Stars of David, you will be filled with a profound sense of gratitude and respect for those who sacrificed their lives for freedom. Your guide will share stories about some of the individuals laid to rest here and provide meaningful insights into the lasting impact of their sacrifices on the course of history. During the low season, the cemetery closes early. Any tour starting at 4:00 PM will not be able to visit the cemetery. *Please note that beginning in 2026, a visit to the Omaha Cemetery cannot be guaranteed.*

Lots of fun and very informative

Corran_G, Dec 2024

There was just the 2 of us on our trip, with Thomas as our guide. Thomas was excellent. We had a lot of fun, whilst also learning a lot and seeing some very moving memorials. Highly recommend this trip!

One hint - it does get cold on the bike so take some layers of clothing.

Thoroughly enjoyed this experience!

c0rrang, Dec 2024

What a lot of fun! Whizzing about on a motorbike and side car seeing all the sights. Our guide Thomas was excellent, he was very friendly and knowledgeable. He showed respect where it was due but also made it hugely enjoyable.

This tour is on the expensive side but worth it for the private experience. Highly recommended.

Sidecar experience at Normandy!

bahockey6, Dec 2024

This was an exciting way to experience the history of Normandy. Our "pilots" were very nice and extremely knowledgable. They took the time to explain each location thoroughly. It was an incredible experience that I would recommend to others to do. The reason I did not give it 5 stars was due to the fact I wish we could have had more time to explore on our own the museum at the American Cemetery, and would have preferred our driver take the turns a little easier (he was quite aggressive at the turns, causing the sidecar to lift off the ground a few times which was a little unnerving). Also, as a recommendation, a microphone and in helmet speakers would have been nice for the times they were explaining things we were passing as the vehicles are loud so it was a little hard to hear clearly. Overall great time!

Excellent gold and Omaha beacheads

KerriAnn_D, Dec 2024

The trip was excellent. Saw Omaha and gold beaches with the bunkers and guns still intact in some. The guides were very informative and loved the trip in the sidecars. It was just a great trip and well worth going.
