An amazing place. The food tastes authentic and is soo delicious. The hosts are super friendly and even made us extra food when we ordered more (we had to order more since it was so good). The atmosphere was relaxing and calm and the food came very quickly. I am definitely coming back here! My only drawback is that it was a little expensive, but it was worth it.

The most delicious vegan food! In a beautiful, colorful and cozy spot. The owners are wonderful. I’d suggest you make a reservation as it can be fully booked.

My husband and I discovered Alaje last week and it already became my favorite restaurant in Rouen!
We have visited as a party of 4 with vegan, chicken, beef, and lamb choices. Everyone was happy with their food ? My empty plate shows that I almost licked it clean, even though the portions were very generous.
The service was the most attentive: all our multiple requests were met. I am on a strict vegsn and gluten-free diet at the moment and had many questions about cooking, which were answered with respect and knowledge.
I've already been back for a take away and have reserved a table for Friday night ?
Thank you Gramai and Lydia ? Looking forward to being your guests again!

Delicious food, excellent service, and awesome atmosphere! You are welcomed with a smile of nice people, myrrh and frankincense smell, bright traditional decorations and music from Ethiopia. Amazing dishes freshly cooked daily.
I ask for specific vegan gluten-free dishes and they are always ready for me by the time of my arrival, whether it is to enjoy my choices in a restaurant or take out (I actually visit Alaje almost every week since it has been opened.)

Between the River Seine and the cathedral, this restaurant has a black and red interior with a geometrical design. The son of a market gardener with a passion for vegetables, the chef infuses his cuisine with contemporary flavours and aromas. He gives free rein to his imagination and creativity in his carte blanche menu: scallops, fennel and blackcurrants; Black Angus beef, mushrooms, celery and vin jaune.

L'epicurius
In a charming pedestrian street in the old part of Rouen, this trendy bistro serves fine and tasty cuisine, such as bluefin tuna with pea mousseline, cockles and haddock emulsion, or red berry vacherin with a herb sorbet… Carefully selected ingredients, to be enjoyed in a contemporary interior. Charming welcome.

L'Odas
Ideally located in the heart of the historic city, two minutes from the cathedral, this restaurant is the brainchild of Olivier Da Silva. He regales diners with a seasonal, often bold score to which he adds the occasional citrus note for extra zest and vivacity. Plants, veg and fish are showcased in a mystery menu. Take a seat in the dining room where you can admire the team at work in the open-plan kitchen or on the pleasantly secluded patio.

Paul-Arthur
This former Top Chef contestant, who hails from the South of France, has set up shop in this half-timbered house on Place de la Pucelle. In this contemporary bistro, which still boasts its period beams, the chef cooks up a pressé of veal shank and foie gras with pistachio pistou; hake confit in semi-salted butter, sweet potato and smoked hollandaise; banoffee pie, dulce de leche and caramelised pecans. The style is the right degree of modern, the ingredients are seasonal, and the dinner menu is more ambitious than that at lunchtime.
