What a great wine bar/bistro! We were looking for a light lunch before starting our visit in Nice. As the weather was quite bad, we were very happy to find Rouge just a bit off the port.

The concept is quite simple, a huge selection of French and non-French wines, with an array of clever and elaborate dishes.

We ordered a few different dishes to share, among others razor clams, pork belly with a genius pepper sauce, burger made from pork knuckle and local cheese.

The clear winner for me was the pork burger that we ordered twice :) You also have a great choice of desserts and a nice espresso to round of your visit.

Service is professional and very friendly. Butter from Yves Bordier for the gourmets. Allergies are perfectly taken into consideration.

Rouge was recommended to us by a friend.

We visited it while passing through Nice and thoroughly enjoyed it. Leo looked after our table and was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu options.

We had the eggplant caviar, chorizo squid, spiny clams, egg mayonnaise, mini ravioli, and peppers - all of which were great. Thank you Leo for the great service!

We had an amazing meal at this restaurant. We just stumbled across it and it didn’t disappoint. The pork knuckle burger was delicious, mashed potato, beef dish and pork belly were particularly lovely. Our waiter Leo was fantastic and tended to our every need, with his own recommendations. You can try the wine before you pick which glass you want, which is great for someone who is fussy like me! He made great recommendations on wine and food. Toilets were the cleanest of any we’ve seen on our travels in France. Would give this 10/10 and would love to return! Thanks Leo!

This was our favourite restaurant while in the south of France, as it was inexpensive for great flavours and really tasty dishes.

It's set up as a tapas menu, with lots of influence from different places. When the first dish came out (croquettes) with 3 croquettes just loosely thrown on a side plate, we both thought "oh - it's gonna be one of those places!" - boy were we wrong. Heavy hitter after heavy hitter of tasty dishes.

The croquettes were warm, gooey, and super comforting. The second dish (cheesy raviolis) threw us both off as we were expecting raviolis, but what we got was essentially a bowl of tasty, puffy, crispy, "Cheez-Its" with grated line zest. They were incredibly addictive. Both the beef tataki and the pork belly were fantastic, fresh and lovely, and the little sausages were incredible - something similar to a Goa sausage with smokiness and great spices. We then moved onto the desserts where we were both fighting over the French toast but the rice pudding and lime were equally great. Fantastic food selection.

I loved that they had a bottle of unfiltered cider on the wine list - we loved it and haven't seen much cider since being in the Côte d'Azur area.

The service I gave only a 4-star, because although it was fast and attentive, the gentleman we had spoke as fast as the fastest person you've ever heard, and only got faster when we asked him to slow down. Be was strong and knowledgeable in the product but had a little bit of a rough sarcasm that didn't always land so well - especially the comment about Quebecois french. Also I have the overall atmosphere a 4 as (even though we loved sitting outside) there were these winged ants/long flies that loved landing on your head and table all night long, and there was the same two cars driving down that narrow street like maniacs too close for comfort. This wasn't the restaurant's fault, but it does take away from the experience.

As far as food goes, highly recommended.

We have been here two days in a row while staying with friends in Nice. Amazing plays, great selection of wine, food and such a lovely service. Sadly we didn’t asked name of our waitress she was so nice and speaking English really well.

Highly recommended place for a date night or meeting with friends.
