    Itinerary

This is a typical itinerary for this product

    Stop atLe Panier

The oldest district of Marseille is also one of the most visited. Located in city's historic center, a stone's throw from the Old Port, it is a perpetual reminder of the eventful history of the ancient Massalia (Marseille)

30 minutes (approx.)No admission tickets required

    Stop atCathedrale de la Major

It is one of Marseille's emblems because the Cathedral of the Major is unique and represents all the power of the city. It is the only cathedral built in France in the 19th century. Its spectacular dimensions are similar to those of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, which allows it to receive up to 3,000 people! This excessiveness was intended to show the power of the Phocaean city, visible from the sea.

10 minutes (approx.)No admission tickets required

    Stop atLa corniche

Drive along the corniche John Kennedy with beautiful views along the Frioul islands and Castle d'if.

15 minutes (approx.)No admission tickets required

    Stop atLe Vieux Port

one of the most emblematic places in Marseille. It is the natural meeting place for all Marseilles residents and visitors. This is where you can feel the atmosphere of Marseille, between the fish market and the excitement of the city centre.

15 minutes (approx.)No admission tickets required

    Stop atLe Cours Julien

The Cours Julien is "the Hipster District", the one that will allow you to shop while enjoying the peace and quiet! This district is the largest district in France dedicated to street art. Let yourself be seduced by the streets of this colourful area. It is a real neighbourhood spirit, an atmosphere that we appreciate, very atypical, especially when we come across the famous local markets: the market of the plain, the farmers' market, the creators' market, the organic market, etc.

15 minutes (approx.)No admission tickets required

Stop atBasilique Notre Dame de la Garde

If it were necessary to present Notre Dame de la Garde in a few words, it would be: more than 800 years of pilgrimage, 157 metres high, a breathtaking view of the entire Phocaean city and the symbol of an entire city.

15 minutes (approx.)No admission tickets required

    Stop atPlage du Prophete

On the Corniche Kennedy, below the road, is the beach of the Prophet, one of the oldest beaches in Marseille and one of the most popular.Crowded in the summer, it is a joy for both young and old people.

15 minutes (approx.)No admission tickets required

    Stop atVallon des Auffes

Nestled between two cliffs, facing the sea, the Vallon des Auffes offers the impression that time stopped at Marcel Pagnol's time. It is one of the most emblematic places in Marseille. Unique, authentic, picturesque site, there are many adjectives to describe this small peaceful haven so close and so far away from the hustle and bustle of the city center. It is here that you will find one of the most beautiful settings to eat in a restaurant in Marseille.

15 minutes (approx.)No admission tickets required

    Stop atPort des Goudes

‘Les Goudes’, a real little fishermen’s village on the edge of Marseille, is a very different area, made up of huts, restaurants, fortifications and close to dream spots such as ‘Callelongue’ or ‘Cap Croisette’. You will discover on this page the secrets and the history of this unusual place.

Mad as a box of frogs

WayneK609, Dec 2024

Edi our driver and host was amazing. He was very knowledgeable. He had a typical French style of driving. Extremely animated. The 2CV was great and fun to be in going up the switch back roads. Great way to see the area if you only have a short time.

Definitely recommend this to anyone.

They Never Showed To Pick Up Our Family of 3

Karen_V, Dec 2024

Our tour guide did not show up. The “story” is that they “accidentally” picked up another family. Would not recommend. Thankfully Viator gave us a refund. It’s the only thing we had planned for the day and we were very excited about it. Waited an hour and a half from the cruise terminal. A very sad, bad experience.

Responses from lapetitefrenchieP

Dear Karen,

We sincerely regret the incident that affected your 2CV excursion.

It appears that a mix-up occurred during the booking process due to an unexpected coincidence: two clients with the same first name and very similar last name booked excursions for the same day. Unfortunately, this situation led to confusion during the organization of the departures by the port.

We fully understand your disappointment and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. We have already implemented measures to prevent such misunderstandings from happening in the future, including carefully verifying booking details to ensure the accuracy of each client's information.

We offered you to reschedule the departure for 2pm instead of 9.30am as a solution to remedy this situation. As you didn't accept the offer we obviously refunded you the experience and send you once again our apologies for this inconvenience.

Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you one day for an unforgettable experience.

A Super Memorable Day

Karen_V, Dec 2024

What a wonderful way to see the best that Marseilles & Cassis have to offer. Our tour guide, Eddie, was both full of energy and super laid back, making the tour more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Fun adventure!

We had a fantastic time! Such a unique way to see the sights and avoid the big crowds. We are car enthusiasts and this was an unforgettable way to experience a piece of history
