Arrival at Mont Saint-Michel and visit to the Benedictine Abbey Our guide will bring you up the narrow streets of the mediaeval village towards the top to the Abbey. Usually we manage to join the guided visit which is led by an expert on Mont Saint-Michel and its history. When it is not possible for some reason we provide the audio-guides for the Abbey's visit. First settled by man in the year 709 it contains a Medieval village and beautiful Abbey fortress dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel. The construction of the Benedictine Abbey started in the 700’s and continued through the 1200s. It remains practically the same since the Middle Ages as it continues to be the goal of pilgrims and tourists from all over the world. Mont Saint Michel remains the most visited site in France with around 4 million tourists per year. After the Abbey visit You'll have free time to enjoy Mont Saint-Michel city and time for Lunch.

Private tour for reasonable price - we were saved!

Thank you for accepting our last-minute request. The tour we had originally planned suddenly cancelled on us the night before the experience. We were almost resigned to spending our 10th anniversary in Paris without any other plan. Then I found this operator that still accepted the booking and even offered a lower price. And we were saved! The tour was well organized, and the driver was very friendly. Thank you a million times. We would definitely recommend this experience.
Mont Saint Michel and Calvados experience

Even though we chose the option without the guide, our driver Magomed entertained us throughout the entire trip! He shared so much interesting information about life in France; he would make a great guide! The tour of Mont Saint Michel was very engaging as well. The local guide showed us the forbidden parts of the abbey. So, if I can recommend one thing - you can save money by choosing the option with just the driver. There will still be a guide at Mont Saint Michel anyway!

There are no words to explain it; you need to see it for yourself. Thank you for organizing the trip for our big group of 10 people! The guide was incredible, and we made so many new discoveries, especially about European history. The Calvados and cider were delicious. We even bought some from the distillery! I definitely recommend it to everyone!

This private tour was convenient with hotel pick-up/drop-off with a lovely guide (Victoria) and a driver (sorry, I can't spell his name). We enjoyed speaking with Victoria and the driver. They both made this tour worthwhile with their friendly attitude, positive mindset and professional behavior. I really commend the driver for being alert and patient with his safe driving skills. It was a long day but definitely worthwhile.
The Calvados tour with tasting was a good introduction to Normandy (video and Steve's explanation), before heading on to Mont Saint Michel. Everything was well-organized.
Be prepared - there are about 400 steps in ascending Mont Saint Michel. It is a physical journey. The tour guide at Mont Saint Michel was also very thorough and did a great job explaining the history and significance of the monastery. He described it as a pilgrimage of salvation for many pilgrims. It is a real marvel from a religious and reflective perspective. There is a lot to see and absorb at Mont Saint Michel. Time goes quickly and it may not feel like enough, but that is a function of wanting to stay as long as possible in such a peaceful place.
Pro-tip: Pack some sandwiches and water / fruit to fuel up at Mont Saint Michel.
Communication with the tour operator (Valerie) was timely and responsive. We recommend this tour if you value the convenience of a private tour with hotel pickup/drop off and prefer a more intimate / quiet setting than a bus. Victoria and the driver were superb. Thank you very much!!! You helped make France memorable.

We had a wonderful 2 day trip to Loire and Normandy. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and fun. We were able to exchange visiting Chateau Amboise to visiting Chateau Clos de Luce. We were very happy. Our driver was super - friendly and helpful. They made a great team that really took care of us.
