Located about 45 minutes by train, Taxi, or Uber, from central Paris, The Palace and Gardens of Versailles count among the most prestigious monuments of the world’s artistic heritage and are certainly the finest and most complete achievement of 17th-century French art. Former residence of the ‘Sun King Louis XIV, this sumptuous royal palace was home to three of France’s most illustrious Kings for over 100 years. The guided tour of the palace includes the State Apartments of the King and Queen, Royal Chapel, and Hall of Mirrors, a richly decorated gallery that boasts 357 mirrors, french bay windows, and crystal chandeliers. Great tour. The guide was good and it is worth going through the palace at least once. Don't miss the gardens.

So worth taking this your. Great tour guide but his name escapes me. He was a wealth of information with some added humour. Also loved not having to wait in line to get in. And enjoyed the gardens at our leisure. Overall great experience.

The Versailles Garden Tour

A well-versed tour guide. She was very personable and knowledgeable. She made interactive and interesting, which made the tour fun and enjoyable. Our least favorite part was the crowded rooms and you have to be vigilant or you will lose the guide and your group.
We also did a self-guided tour of the Gardens which would have been more meaningful with a tour guide. We enjoyed walking the grounds nonetheless. It is so big though that it would have been more fun to rent a cart to finish the whole thing.
