Private day tour for five
Jlobsitz, Dec 2024
We were fortunate to connect with Stuart fairly far in advance to secure a day in June following the 80th commemoration. The process of booking and meeting up was easy. The tour was tailored to maximize our time since there were still some logistic issues to manage, due to dignitaries, which Stuart handled perfectly. This is certainly an area, in our opinion, where it is necessary to have an experienced and knowledgeable tour guide. This is also an area that we feel requires more time than we had committed to in order to fully appreciate the epic scope of Operation Overlord and D-Day. Stuart provides a "non-cookie cutter" tour experience with utmost passion. He is a gifted communicator and pleasant authority on Normandy, the invasion including the history leading up to and ensuing D-Day. We will book him again when we return to continue a more extensive appreciation of this critical time in world history.
We highly recommend this tour for those with limited time. We also enthusiastically recommend Stuart to work with you to develop a most meaningful and enjoyable experience in Normandy.
Heartfelt & Historical D-Day Tour - Extraordinary & Moving Experience
elizabethhD1973LE, Dec 2024
Our small group of four was so fortunate to connect with Stuart Robertson for a private 2 day tour of Normandy. His historical knowledge combined with his heartfelt and compassionate storytelling style made this an experience I will never forget. Stuart is a full of facts and has a great personality. He weaves the names, heroic tales and memories of numerous young men who stormed the beaches and fields of France, in the name of freedom. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STUART/NORMANDY BATTLE TOURS if you are seeking a personalized, profound and poignant experience!
A Forever Memory

My husband and I have been on Stuart’s DDay Tour twice - once 15 years ago when our children were young - and then again in May of this year when we traveled with 18 of our walking group friends to Normandy.
Both tours were extraordinary. It is a full day tour that will expand your knowledge of DDay history but also tug at your heart and soul. Stuart is a superb storyteller and he brings DDay alive through the real life stories of soldiers and their families - many of whom he has met over the many years of his tour work and in writing his historical books. I predict you will be wiping tears away at some point of the day and particularly at the last stop at the American Cemetery.
Given that we were such a large group, Stuart recommended that we use the Albion Tours sprinter bus and that worked well. We were extremely comfortable in our travels and in safe hands with our extremely professional driver Jean Francois.
A remarkable day tour - not to be missed.
Absolute do - it was the highlight of our trip

This was absolutely the highlight of our two week trip in France, and we spent time in Paris and other amazing regions. Stuart is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. We truly felt like we stepped back in time through his story telling, with vivid descriptions of historical events. It was an incredibly moving experience in a way I did not expect. It was a sobering reminder of how much past generations have fought to give us the freedom we have today. I highly highly recommend Stuart’s tour. You will not regret it.
Normandy D-Day Battleground Tour Experience

Booked Stuart based on a recommendation from a good friend; we couldn't have been more pleased. Stuart took the time to discuss and listen to our expectations, and put together a tour agenda that in addition to the expected beachs / drop zones took us to places we never would have found on our own. The pace was ideal; we moved around quite a bit without ever feeling rushed. Overall a very positive experience.
