We were very pleased with our guide “Stan” and the vineyard visits. We learned much about the terroir and the grapes native to the Bordeaux region, tasted a number of area wines, each distinctive for style and taste and methods.
We were especially lucky in traveling with a great group, a convivial collection of ages from across the USA plus Hong Kong and
Australia. Great Day!

Fun filled day wine tasting in Bordeaux/St Emilion region

Clare picked our group up outside the tourist office and off we went for our day of wine tasting. On the way to our first stop Clare filled us in about the history of wine in the Bordeaux region.
During the day we visited three chateaus and learned a lot about the making of wine.
We also visited the stunning medieval town of St Emilion where Clare gave us time to have lunch and wander around the cobbled streets.
Thanks Clare for a really great day out of Bordeaux!

A highlight of my stay in Bordeaux - the trip with the amazing guide Helene, who joyfully answered all our questions and took us through the entire wine-making process all the way to the sweet guided tastings. We saw the cellars, we saw the processing rooms, we heard the fine details about production and most importantly we got to see, understand and TASTE the difference that soil makes on wines that are otherwise identical. A memorable and rich experience, thank you for this!
