Stop atBatterie Allemande de Longues-Sure-Mer
Considered one of the most important elements of Hitler's Atlantic Wall in Normandy, WN 48 is the only German battery to have retained three of its four original 150-mm guns in situ! This is a great hands on experience involving naval guns and WWII bunkers. Your guide will take the time to describe the construction process, the role of the German fortifications as well as the place of WN 48 in the history of the D-Day landings.

Stop atArromanches
One of two artificial harbours assembled at Normandy after D-Day, ‘Mulberry B’ represented a masterpiece of engineering. Approximately 22% of the supplies required by the Anglo-Canadian forces in the course of the campaign came through this port alone. Learn the story behind its construction and marvel at the remnants of the port that are still visible on the seafront of Arromanches.

Stop atGraye-sur-Mer
Mike Sector was the westernmost section of Juno Beach. Assaulted by the Royal Winnipegs on D-Day, this part of the beach was to witness, during the initial wave, a casualty rate similar to that of Omaha Beach. One of "Hobart's funnies" that participated in the assault, a Churchill AVRE tank, is still guarding the beach exit created in the early hours of D-Day.

Stop atBernieres-sur-Mer
Canada house is the most iconic landmark in the entire Canadian sector. It stands as a reminder of the valiant actions of the Queen's Own Rifles who carried out the assault on Nan White sector. This battalion had the highest casualty rate of all the Canadian units participating in the attack. It was also at Bernieres that were to land that morning La Chaudière Regiment, the only French speaking Canadian unit at Normandy on D-Day.

Stop atBeny-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery
The first of two Canadian cemeteries established in Normandy after the war, Beny-Reviers Cemetery is the final resting place for 2,049 men. Amongst them are most of the 359 Canadians fallen on D-Day, men who lost their lives during the battle for Caen but also some of the 156 Canadians murdered during the summer of 1944 by elements of the 12 SS Div.

The Tour was one of the best tours we’ve ever been on. Florin was a wonderful guide and very passionate about the things that he talked about during the four hours we were with him. We highly recommend this tour!!

Our tour guide was outstanding. He possessed a wealth of knowledge and was eager to answer all of our questions. When he learned I was searching for my grandfathers grave, he suggested we stop for flowers and was very sensitive to my need for a moment alone once we found it. I would highly recommend him for any future tour.
Florin was excellent guide

Florin picked us up at the Bayeaux Train station and we did an afternoon Juno tour. Florin is very knowledgeable and shares the information in a beautiful story telling way. He was very patient with my elderly parents and we never felt rushed hopping in/out of the van to see the sights. My 84 year old father said he would love to spend more time just listening to Florin share the history of this time period. This was a highlight of our European vacation and we would highly recommend Florin. So thankful we booked the tour with him.
Highlight of my trip!

Let’s start from the beginning. We communicated with Florin via email who was very accommodating and made the booking process very easy. We booked the half day Canadian sector tour. On the day of the tour, Florin picked us up right at our Airbnb in Bayeux. He was very personable and funny. It was just my fiancé and I with Florin who drove us from site to site in his immaculately clean van. At no point did the tour feel rushed or scripted. It is obvious this is more than a job for Florin and that this topic is truly his passion. He was so knowledgeable. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who knows more about a subject than him. We especially liked how he took the time to remember where in Canada we were from and pointed out people from the war who were also from our hometown. Pure class. I can’t recommend Florin and Spearhead Tours enough. Thank you for a memorable day visiting a place I’ve dreamt of going my entire life. It was the highlight of my trip.
