Beautiful countryside tour

James_E, Dec 2024

Hugo is a great guide and very knowledgeable regarding Normandy history. I knew we were in good hands several weeks prior to our arrival (80th anniversary of D-Day) when Hugo reached out several times to confirm as well as provide updates to our tour during one of the busiest times of the year in Normandy. We had a great ride through the country side going down narrow roadways with farms and small villages along the way on our way to Omaha Beach. The narrow roads made me wonder what soldiers traveled these same roads 80 years ago. Highly recommend the tour any time of the year, and Hugo specifically.

Best day of our Normandy week

We had a fabulous day with Petite Reine Normandie aka Hugo and our American friends. We booked a private tour from our hotel in Arromanches with Hugo, who arrived early and was ready to ride before 9am. He knew all the local cycle paths and quiet country lanes that allowed us to thoroughly enjoy our ride from Arromanches/Gold beach to Omaha beach, with a sobering visit to the American cemetery before heading to the small and beautiful harbour of Port en Bessin for lunch. Our cycle back took in stunning viewing points along the coast, including the German dug-outs and defence points.

The electric bikes were in top condition, and nothing was too much trouble for Hugo. He was very knowledgeable and answered our many questions.

We would not hesitate to recommend a tour with Hugo.

An active and fascinating tour both healthy and historical.

Thank you Hugo, we thoroughly enjoyed our active and historical trip through beautiful unspoilt Normandy countryside.

A memorable experience we will long remember. A perfect day with Hugo.

Our day with Hugo was the highlight of an amazing two week family trip to France, Switzerland, and Italy. Hugo is an engaging, knowledgeable, patient, kind, and passionate guide. He helped us design a perfect day, including meeting us at the train station and delivering us to the Bayeux Museum at the end of the day where we saw the Bayeux Tapestry right before the museum closed (highly recommended). We designed a one day tour, leaving Paris by train in the morning and returning the same night, including a lunch at a great restaurant. We will never forget our day with Hugo. Everything about the experience was first rate, including the bikes which were of the highest quality. We will definitely do this again someday in the future. Thank you Hugo!

Do not miss this incredible opportunity!

My daughter and I are traveling to visit places that a dear family friend and WWII veteran had been. We scheduled this tour for our fist full day in Normandy to get a feel for the place. This tour was far more than we expected!! Riding a bike through the beautiful countryside gave us time to reflect on the events of the 1940s. Seeing the places and hearing the perspective from our guide, Hugo, was something you can't get from a book or movie. Seeing the American cemetary and Omaha beach was incredible. Our guide shared meaningful stories, and we learned a lot! Its obvious that Hugo is passionate and skilled at leading this tour.
