Founded in 1720, Maison Champy is the very first wine estate established in Burgundy. Located in the heart of Beaune, this winery owns historic cellars and a building inspired by the Eiffel School, both listed as Historic Monuments. Today, Maison Champy owns 21 hectares of vineyards on the Côte de Beaune and is internationally recognized for the quality of its wines, particularly its Grand Crus such as Corton-Charlemagne. A large part of its vineyards is cultivated using Organic Farming methods to preserve and enhance the exceptional terroir of its parcels.

History & Good Wine

We recently had the pleasure of taking a wine tour at Maison Champy, and it was an exceptional experience, largely thanks to our guide, Daniele. From start to finish, the tour was informative, engaging, and thoroughly enjoyable. Our group had a lot of fun learning the rich history and process of winemaking and at last, enjoying the wine from this historic winery. Thank you, Daniele!

A very interesting and informative tour, describing the history and classifications of wines in Beaune and the surrounding area with a tasting of 5 wines. Our guide, Daniele, was very welcoming and knowledgeable, explaining the fascinating history of Maison Champy and the origin and qualities of the wines. Highly recommended!

Personal tour of the cellar with history & fantastic explanation of the Borgogne wine region and Maison Champy wine. We did the premier wine tasting which was fantastic, our guide was very knowledgeable. A thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours.
