INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND USE
"Personal information" refers to any data that can identify, describe, be used to contact, or be reasonably connected either directly or indirectly to you. For the purposes outlined in this Policy, the terms "Personal information" and "Personal data" are considered equivalent and interchangeable.
Personal Information Collected Directly From Users:
During your interaction with our Services, we directly collect the following categories of personal information:
- Contact details (including email address, physical address, telephone number)
- User communications (including inquiries, discussions, grievances, or any other information submitted to our customer support)
- Promotional participation data (when you opt to take part in contests, sweepstakes, or similar promotional activities, we collect information you submit, such as photographs, images, captions, or other materials, subject to the terms specified at the time)
- Additional voluntary information (including any other details you choose to share about yourself or others through our Services, or information you grant us access to via third-party platforms)
Personal Information Generated By Us:
Through your interaction with our Services, we generate personal information about you via automatic collection and through analysis of your activities and collected data. We employ various technologies, such as cookies, web beacons, and other tools (detailed in our Cookies and Interest-Based Advertising Policy) to automatically gather information about your interactions with our Services and communications. We generate these categories of personal information:
- Device data. Your use of our Services automatically provides us with information about your device (including mobile devices, computers, or tablets), encompassing hardware and software details, device settings, and nearby network information. This includes operating system information, browser details, other installed software, IP addresses or device identifiers, country and region settings, language preferences, and information about nearby domain servers and wireless/network access points.
- Usage and performance data. We automatically collect data about how you use our Services, including search activities, travel itinerary statistics you share, interaction patterns with Service features, clicked links, preferences, access timing, referring URLs, and Service performance metrics.
- Location data. Our Services automatically collect approximate location data (such as city-level information) or, with your permission, precise geographic coordinates from mobile devices both during app use and when inactive, based on your consent choices. Location detection uses IP address mapping, cellular towers, WiFi positioning, and GPS signals. This information helps us enhance and customize our Services, such as finding nearby hotels and delivering relevant content for your current location (including local marketing communications about accommodations and travel options). While FranceRent cannot control device settings, we recommend enabling location services to access location-based features. The Your Rights and Choices section provides information about managing your preferences, including location settings.
- User insights. We analyze and combine all collected and generated information to develop insights about your preferences and interests, enabling us to personalize our Services and customize advertising from both us and our partners.

COOKIES
Cookies and related tracking technologies, including beacons, scripts, web beacons and tags (collectively referred to as "cookies"), are small pieces of text typically stored on your computer hard drive or within your browser. They allow websites to store information about your website visits. For mobile websites and apps, we use device IDs and/or Advertising IDs in a similar way to cookies.
We and select third-party partners (described below) utilize cookies on our websites, mobile applications, and within our emails or other communications to you (collectively referred to as our "Sites").
When cookies we use lead to the processing of your personal information, information about how we use that personal information and your associated rights can be found in our Privacy Policy.
TYPES OF COOKIES
We employ "first-party cookies," which are used exclusively by us or by third parties acting under our instructions or on our behalf. These cookies enable us to analyze our Sites and provide features like remembering your language settings.
Some cookies on our Sites are used both by us for the purposes outlined in this policy and by third parties who may combine information from our Sites with data from other sites to enhance their services. These cookies may be used for purposes such as interest-based advertising.
The cookies on our Sites, whether placed by us or third parties, can be either "session" or "persistent" cookies. "Session" cookies are automatically removed when you close your browser and are used for functions like maintaining your login status while browsing our Sites. "Persistent" cookies stay on your device or browser even after closing it. These help, for example, to identify you when you return to our Sites.
We divide the cookies we use into three categories:
Functional: To identify returning visitors and retain your preferences from previous visits, such as language settings. To customize your Site experience, such as displaying relevant offers on our homepage based on your past visits or prioritizing certain options in your search results.
Analytical: To enhance our Sites and services by understanding user behavior and analyzing usage patterns. We gather general information about Site usage, including identifying popular features, to guide future improvements.
Advertising: To recognize when you access our services across different devices. We link information from multiple devices to identify new device usage, enabling consistent personalization across our Sites. To enable social media interactions, such as posting comments or "likes" to social platforms. To gather information for advertising purposes on our Sites and third-party websites based on your preferences and Site usage. Additional details about our advertising cookie usage are provided below.
Our Advertising Cookies
We collaborate with third-party partners who deploy cookies on our Sites to deliver their services, including:
1. Advertising Targeting. We partner with external advertising firms to display advertisements during your visits to our Sites, allowing these firms to place and access their cookies on your device when serving advertisements on our Sites. These firms may utilize information gathered through their cookies (excluding your name, address, email address, or phone number) regarding your visits to our Sites and other websites, combined with details about your purchases and interests from other online platforms, to show you relevant advertisements for products and services. We additionally permit select third parties (detailed in our Privacy Policy) to gather web log information from you (potentially including IP address, where allowed, and details about your browser or operating system) when you visit our Sites, or to implement or identify a unique cookie in your browser to deliver personalized ads or content. These cookies may contain de-identified usage information or other data connected to information you've willingly provided to us, such as your email address, which we may share with third parties exclusively in a hashed, non-readable format.
2. Advertisement Analytics and Measurement. We employ analytics cookies within our online advertising initiatives to understand how visitors engage with our Sites following exposure to online advertisements, including those displayed on external websites. Specifically, our Sites utilize Google Analytics 360 Suite, incorporating Google Analytics Advertising - web analytics and advertising analytics services from Google, Inc., which employ external cookies. When necessary, our Sites implement IP address anonymization functionality to truncate user IP addresses processed by Google. Our Sites also implement these Google Analytics Advertising capabilities: Google Remarketing, Google Segments, Google Ads Manager and Google Ads. These functionalities utilize external cookies to gather information about website traffic by monitoring users across different websites and time periods, generating reports that help us better comprehend our website visitors and develop advertisement audiences based on these insights.
3. Retargeting Pixel Tags. Furthermore, we share website usage data about our Sites' visitors with external advertising firms to manage and target advertisements and conduct market research analysis on our Sites and others. For these objectives, we and our advertising partners implement pixel tags (also known as clear gifs) on certain pages you access on our Sites. We utilize the data collected through these pixel tags to deliver relevant advertisements during your browsing of other Internet sites. These advertisements may reflect your interests, such as specific searches you performed on our Sites in previous browsing sessions.
4. Additional Cookies: Our business partners, who provide particular features on our Sites or show advertising based on your browsing patterns, also utilize Local Storage technologies like HTML5 to collect and retain content information and preferences. Be advised that various web browsers provide different management options for removing HTML5 local storage.
Your Cookie Choices
We offer you options regarding cookie usage as outlined in this policy.
During your initial visit to our Sites, where legally required, you will be presented with the opportunity to either grant or deny permission for our cookie usage.
Web Browsers. Browsers typically accept cookies as a default setting. You have the ability to modify settings to reject certain cookies or receive notifications before accepting cookies. These adjustments can be made by following your browser's instructions, typically found within the "Help", "Tools" or "Edit" sections. Some external parties also offer direct cookie opt-out options through dedicated links, and we have attempted to indicate these possibilities in the table above.
Additional information about cookies, including methods to view cookies present on your device and instructions for managing and removing them, can be found at www.allaboutcookies.org and www.youronlinechoices.eu.
Do-Not-Track Signals. At present, we do not utilize technology that detects "do-not-track" signals transmitted by your browser. Please be aware that disabling cookies may restrict access to certain features on our Sites, including profile/account access and personalized content. Additionally, removing all cookies from your device could impact your future visits to various websites, including our Sites, potentially requiring you to re-enter login credentials upon returning. Note that even if you implement any of the above options, advertisements will still appear, however, they won't be customized based on information gathered through these tracking technologies, and therefore may not align with your interests.
