The best sip, tip and Sommelier!

lindagD289LG, Dec 2024

Margaret Rose (MR), our Sommelier, was just awesome! She was funny, engaging and an excellent teacher. Just because one is an expert on a topic doesn’t mean that one can teach it. That is not the case with MR. As a life long beer drinker, I always wanted to learn more about wine but never felt comfortable enough to ask questions about it. Better said, I didn’t know what questions to ask. I quickly put my feelings of dread on the back burner (I’m sure the sampling of wines didn’t hurt), but this was much more than liquid courage. MR had a way of disarming my doubt by teasing out my questions and not taking offense to the ugly, distorted faces I made when I clearly didn’t care for a particular wine that I was sampling in a way that was skillful, humorous and non-threatening. This class is a MUST. Thank you Margaret Rose for helping me to broaden my horizons. Now I know what it means when my salivary glands starts to flow after talking a sip! The best tip and Sommelier ever! This class is a must!

Amazing wine tasting in Lyon!

Kelli_K, Dec 2024

Amazing wine tasting. Small group of 8 people, and she spoke in English (we were all from US and UK). The apartment is adorable, and had a great vibe. Margaret was a great sommelier. Gave a ton of facts about the wines and made it really enjoyable. The cheese board was delicious and she even did half the board in Goat Cheese, since I was limited to goat (and I booked that morning as someone canceled their spot). Wines were amazing. Also, she sent me recommendations for Annecy as I was heading there the next day, which was such a treat!I would highly recommend and go again if I was in Lyon.

Great experience

This was excellent. We worked with Margaret Rose, not Caroline, but I can't imagine being happier. I appreciated the fun atmosphere but mostly the real education we got about the wines of the region. We are fairly well educated about wine and how to taste wines, and we still learned quite a bit. This was well worth it.

Sip, learn, enjoy

My husband and I enjoyed a delightful tasting in Lyon with Margaret-Rose. Compared with other tastings we’ve done in California and Europe, this was the most friendly, informative, comfortable, and — yes — delicious. It was a fantastic way to learn about the wines and geography of the region.

Great wine. Amazing class!

Margaret Rose was a consummate expert and teacher. So so glas we did this!

We left our teen children at the airbnb and walked through the neighborhoods and through ancient passageways to reach the airy loft. It was such a rich experience learning about the wine that is so close by, its history, geographic and climate conditions, and of course the anecdotes and characters behind the wines (and cheese) and vineyards. A must-do in Lyon! 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷
