Brilliant little streetfood place nestled just between the cathedral and a main square with loads of busy food places. This was a one-man show with the friendly owner all too happy to cook for our party of eight.
Lots of choice on the menu and the food was fresh, hot and quick, especially considering the guy was doing it all by himself. He talked us through the many options with a smile and our basic French wasn't a problem as his English was great.
My taco with merguez and marinated chicken was huge, a veritable house brick of a meal packed with fries and cheese sauce. I ordered a large. Who knows how big an XL would be? I'd probably still be eating it.
We were very happy to visit this quieter place rather than the packed out larger venues round the corner. A real hidden gem, give it a go, he deserves your custom.

We got the taco, the kebab wrap, the chicken wings and the sweet potato fried, as well as two milk shakes, and everything was delicious! The owner was really kind, did some small talk, and immediately recognized that we were uncertain because we didn't speak French.
The prices are amazing as well.
10/10, would recommend

Perfect location in a nice quirky high street near the cathedral. Friendly and speaks English. Food was freshly cooked and tasty. A good portion of food for a really good price compared to other nearby food places.

Amazing little cafe/takeaway, we had fantastic filling food, and the owner couldn't have been more helpful. Big thumbs up from some hungry travellers!

Ail des Ours
This pleasant, trendy restaurant close to the cathedral is run by young chef Stéphane Bruyer. In a renovated dining space decorated in natural tones (with lots of plants), he serves simple, seasonal cuisine, using market produce to devise a single set menu (with a choice of fish or meat). This is a very popular spot in Amiens... and it's easy to see why.

Les Orfèvres
Bang in the middle of town, this restaurant sports a modern, pared-down, workshop interior and a friendly vibe. The menu is no stranger to the classics, albeit with the odd more modern touch. The chef avows a weakness for fish, illustrated by his superlative low-temperature loin of cod, honey-flavoured fermented milk, leeks and celery.

Hyacinthe
Previously active in the humanitarian sector, this chef found a new calling while being trained by mentors such as Cyril Lignac and Hélène Darroze. Remaining true to his ethos here in his vintage restaurant, he is mindful of the relationship between his cooking, nature and people, sourcing vegetables from the Hortillonnages (cultivated islets in Amiens), saltmarsh lamb from the Baie de Somme estuary, line-caught fish from the Côte d'Opale etc. Filet mignon pie, vegetable pickles or monkfish, tomato, aubergine and sea herbs: his – at times creative – dishes draw on various preparation techniques, good ingredients and flavours.
