This is a great hidden gem. You step back in time to the mid 70’s with the decor and it feels like you are in your grandmothers kitchen and living room. The staff are friendly and the food is perfect and authentic. The fried duck was cooked perfectly and the noddle dish was seasoned just right. Great spice levels and they’re not afraid to use the Szechuan peppers. I will return.

After the first visit to this restaurant, we went there every day during our stay in Besancon! We tried to taste every dish as much as we could, all of them were extremely delicious. If you want some tasty surprises, you must ask for their daily specials! They were just amazing! If we plan a revisit to Besancon, Palais de Chine is the reason! Highly recommend!

One of the only places open in Besançon in August - found it by chance, staff friendly, fast service, food was fresh and delicious (especially dim sum and duck dishes), authentic. Beautiful decor on a beautiful spot in Besançon. Great pricing too. 5 stars!

No very pleasent epxerience with the food. The menu was in french so i didnt quite understood what I was ordering. I got fried pork and that was it, I dont see anything asiatic in that, I could have gotten it in any other restaurant. Maybe it was just not my taste, but also the portion was not very big.

At the foot of the Vauban Citadel, this smart hotel occupies the former convent of the Poor Clares. The restaurant provides a cosy setting, with old parquet floors and tablecloths, and – a major asset – its terrace overlooking the park! Chef Hugo Mathieu (trained in Lyon's top restaurants) is no novice, judging by his polished dishes: glazed pea velouté, cod loin fillet cooked at 50C, crispy pistachio tartlet.

In a narrow street near the Doubs, this couple, who earned their stripes in prestigious establishments, work in tandem in the open kitchen, occasionally venturing out to serve diners. Their single set menu, based on carefully selected seasonal produce and enhanced by wild-picked ingredients, is akin to a natural history lesson: carrot / marjoram / plantain / burnet / bay leaf; black pork / pumpkin / poultry jus / spring onion oil; beetroot / raspberry / coriander / iced nougat.
