In the building "Operation Neptune", prepare to live the parachuting of June 6, 1944! Embark at night in a real C-47 plane in England, then land on the place of Sainte-Mère-Eglise in the middle of the fighting and take part in the battles that followed. A 20-minute film recounts with emotion the life under German occupation and the liberation of Sainte-Mère-Église and the Cotentin region. New this year, you will be able to go back in time with an Histopad! Thanks to the Augmented Reality, interactivity and hyper-realistic graphics of the Histopad tablet, you will be transported to the heart of Normandy in 1944 and experience the highlights of the D-Day. Immersion guaranteed! To witness the German occupation, to attend the landing of gliders, to manipulate weapons and equipment to understand how it works, to meet the destinies that have marked History ... all this is now possible thanks to high technology of Histopad!

Airborne Museum

One of the best WWII museums I went to. Very interactive, very good coverage of the history pre/during/post occupation. Exhibits are really well done. Use the guide.
Numerous exhibits that give an impression of the history

Amazing place, which has numerous well put together exhibits showing arms ammunition , vehicles uniforms etc etc . In other words plenty to see for what was a very low admission price
A great learning experience about the airborne mission before D-Day
TomiGY, Sep 2024
The museum has an actual glider and C-47 on display. There is also a lot of actual equipment, photos, and displays about the airborne experience. We've all heard about the guy who got stuck on the church, learn the rest of the story here and see where it happened. There is so much more to the story than what most books and movies share. Come and learn about this important mission.
Museum holding exhibits relating to the parachute landings in the area.

It has a car park available which is also accesible to the town centre. The museum is a number of buildings holding exhibits of subjects relating to the landings of WW2 close to the area. There is onsite toliets all accesible with a wheelchair or pushchair.
The best war museum experience in a long time.
audreyaM7157PD, Aug 2024
The best war museum experience in a long time. Old (79, 75, 51, 44) and young (10, 14 year old), we all loved it. Great immersive displays, very informative films (English, french), very well designed digital content on tablets for those who want (no extra cost), holographic scenes, real life military equipments, everything made the visit memorable. We spent nearly 2:30 hours there. Only hunger made us leave the site.
Large car parks. Cafes, restaurants just outside the entrance. We strongly recommend.
