A must do with kids!

Kim_V, Jun 2024

I would 100% recommend this tour with a Knight. He was on time, professional, had many stories to keep the kids engaged and my husband with tons of facts and answered all of our questions.

Loved the end where he let the kids sword fight and shot arrows. Very very cool way to explore Carcassonne for an hour. Great job and promise it won’t disappoint. My 9, 7, and 5 year old are still talking about it.

A fine visit.

It was all very good, and "our knight" explained very well how and why the fortifications around Carcassonne were made. The best part was when we had the chance to Shoot with an arch-bow. The guide was very patient and explained first in english, then in easy French, as I had asked for. I went with a garmmarschool class but cannot choose that option later in this review.

Excellent Guided Tour Cite de Carcassonne

YouMeandGoodFood, Sep 2023

We worked with Julien to schedule 3 private tours of Cite de Carcassonne for our group of 50. With Julien, Gwen and Anna as our guides, the tour did not disappoint. Our guides were in period costumes and did a wonderful job blending history and entertaining information to make the tour both fun and informative. We wrapped up the tours getting to try some sword work which was entertaining for everyone. Thank you for providing our guests such a great tour.

A wonderful tour!

RoisinFur, Sep 2022

This was such a lovely part of our trip to Carcassonne, and we would highly recommend it to any family seeking a private tour. We have 3 children - 9, 6, and 2... Our friendly knight adapted and adjusted his tour perfectly to suit our family. He was super kind to the children, and really focused on their interests and questions, which was what we wanted. He kept them not only interested but entertained throughout. They were fascinated by it. He was very knowledgable and able to answer all their questions, and ours. I agree with the other review that he took care to keep us in the shade on the hot afternoon that we had our tour. Highly highly recommended!

Excellent, clear, and full of dramatic stories

LDSPd, Jun 2022

This was an excellent, short tour. We started in the mid-afternoon (3pm), so it was hot and sunny, but our guide made sure to keep us in the shade and walk slowly so all ages could keep up. We paid special attention to the legendary origin of the city's name, the construction of parts of the fortifications and rock walls from Roman through Renaissance periods (different sizes, different colors, different materials... now we know how to look at and read walls!), the smaller castle within the larger fortified town, and the beautiful 1/2 Romanesque, 1/2 Gothic cathedral. Our phone-focused teens looked around and followed the interesting stories, and the two younger kids loved the battle stories and getting to hold an actual (not sharp) metal sword. Very clear and understandable - no knowledge of French needed. We started at the Narbonnoise gate and finished at the church, spending a total of 65 minutes. Highly recommended.
