    Stop atGrosse Cloche

The tour lasts approximately 3 hours and is divided into two parts. The first half has you visiting the best artisanal shops in the city - specifically an artisanal bakery, fromagerie, butcher and cannele pastry shop. You will sample a few items along the way but the main event happens during the second half of the tour. You will enjoy a seated wine, cheese and charcuterie pairing for a blowout finish at a wine cellar/wine shop. As we are walking, we'll point out a few historical landmarks in Old Town Bordeaux from the Camino de Santiago to the Grosse Cloche - one of the most recognized monuments of Bordeaux.

Alexandra and Bordeaux were wonderful!

Alexandra was lovely - very knowledgeable, respectful, knows her food, wine and Bordeaux very well! Alexandra accommodated everyone’s tastes and pereferences.

An amazing food filled evening in Bordeaux

Shanice_F, Dec 2024

Alex was an amazing guide! He took us through the town and showed us some amazing places to eat as well as prominent locations. He was very thoughtful, since the meat shop is closed on a Monday he got the meat on Saturday and kept it for us. The extra meat and cheese was also given to us to take back to our accommodation. Thank you for an amazing tour in Bordeaux Alex.

The best food and wine tour in France.

Lauren_M, Dec 2024

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour with Alex. He had a passion for the food, culture and history and made sure to show us the most important aspects of the Bordeaux gastronomy.

Amazing culinary walking tour in Bordeaux with Alexandra!

jaaph577, Dec 2024

9 July 2024 ... already over a month ago now, but we still often think back to the amazing culinary walking tour through Bordeaux which Alexandra planned for us.

What an enthusiastic, polite, modest and knowledgeable (food)guide Alexandra is!! The combination of delicious original authentic French products, a very friendly American couple and thus Alexandra made it an unforgettable afternoon for my wife and me.

We visited a real "boulangerie", "boucherie" and "fromagerie". The owners of these stores were as enthusiastic about their shop/products as Alexandra is. Out of respect I've one advise: don't touch their products! We were allowed to choose delicious authentic French products (included in the price of the tour) which we consumed at the end of the walk in a very cosy wine bar. Of course, we also made a stop at the ‘Grosse Cloche’ where we enjoyed the one and only classic and vanilla cannelés.

Alexandra (and of course also Danuta and Peter!) thank you very much for your enthusiasm, expertise and friendliness. You gave us an unforgettable afternoon. Writing this review, makes my mouth water again!

Great local immersion

Global689353, Dec 2024

Alex is a local who knew the best places in old Bordeaux to select bread, pastries, fabulous cheeses, meats and wine. He showed us many highlights and told us the history as we walked through the shopping streets. The pace was leisurely enough to see everything and enjoy a yummy lunch at the end of all the items Alex bought for us!

Well worth doing at the beginning of your visit to Bordeaux!
