Cancellation of our catacombs tour

C8427PDmatthewl, Dec 2024

Unfortunately Viator cancelled our tour to the catacombs. We had already paid but they cancelled it without any explanation? They were good enough to refund our money but just thought an explanation would have been nice.

Don’t book here for the catacombs

jessicatM5794NT, Dec 2024

DO NOT BOOK THROUGH TRIP ADVISOR OR VIATOR!!

Book directly through the catacombs.

The problem is, they don’t give you the tickets you paid for. If you’re so much as five minutes late, the tour starts without you, but they leave with your tickets. we were here during the Para Olympics and of course we planned ahead and left an hour and a half early got in an Uber to should’ve taken no longer than 25 minutes. Of course with road closures traffic was really bad and we knew we were not gonna make it on time so I messaged through tripadvisor app multiple times letting them know with no response. Then when we get there, we don’t have the tickets we can’t go in. It’s sold out so we wasted an hour and a half in an Uber in traffic and then we’re told we can’t get in. We’re leaving in two days so we can’t reschedule either. So now there’s no refund and I can’t even go in. I understand the policy if you’re late, but I should at least have access to the tickets that I bought. Call the number provided they were no help. Luckily, the nice lady that works there. Let us buy a couple tickets so we could at least go go. Honestly just get yourself regular tickets with the audio that was great. Don’t waste your money I lost $260! Had good experiences in the past with tripadvisor, just this one place its not the way too go. There were multiple people there in the same situation as us.

Hi Jessica,

We’re truly sorry to hear that you were unable to join us for the tour. We always strive to create a fantastic experience for our guests, and we regret that this wasn’t the case for you.

During the Paris Paralympics, travel throughout the city is significantly affected. To help arrive at the tour meeting points on time, we strongly recommended allowing extra time to accommodate any potential traffic or public transportation delays.

Since our guides are unable to wait for late arrivals, it is important for all guests to enter the site together with the guide, who has all the tickets for the group. This is done to ensure a smooth and organized entry and to avoid any confusion or delays at the entrance.

We noticed that you reached out to us through V's portal, which is not monitored in real-time and isn't designed for immediate communication. For urgent matters, we always provide our direct contact information on the confirmation voucher.

We would like to make this right for you. Please feel free to reach out to us directly via email at [email protected], and we’ll be happy to assist.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best,

Andrii

Wow what history in this place

Elly_M, Dec 2024

Wow what an amazing experience and something different to do in an extremely tourist driven city. The history here is incredible and it's worth doing a tour rather than just walking through by yourselves as you get to go into a couple of interesting locked to the public areas. Guide was knowledgeable and appeared interested in what she was telling us. Well worth the trip to this area. No suitable for kids under 5

Loved Angel!!

Terrah_S, Dec 2024

My husband was so excited to do this tour of all the things to see in Paris. Angel was a great tour guide. I love that he’s a history “nerd” because it was so powerful to know the history and intent of the catacombs not just showing you the bones.

Responses from TakeWalksTeam
