Tour Operator Values Money Over Customer Service

I cannot comment on the quality of the tour as our Marseille cruise port stop was abruptly cancelled the night before due to striking workers in France. I informed the tour operator immediately and received this response ... "We understand the cancellation, but unfortunately, this service will be charged. You can file a claim with the cruise company. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance are considered a no-show"
So rather than simply refunding my payment due to this "force majeure", they want me to go through all the paperwork to maybe get a refund from the cruise company several weeks later. In my judgment and experience, that's just bad business ... and bad customer service. I would suggest you find another tour operator that cares more about the customer ... and less about the money.

We deeply regret the inconvenience, but unfortunately, cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable. Please take into account you can file a claim with the cruise company. As it's high season, we can't issue a refund because the driver was reserved for this service. Thank you for understanding.

This was a wonderful experience! We really enjoyed our private tour with Pierre. He was very knowledgeable and considerate. We saw all of the highlights of Marseille and had enough time to get all of the pictures that we wanted. The vehicle was clean and we were provided water as we entered.
