A famous event involved paratrooper John Steele, whose parachute snagged on the church steeple; he pretended to be dead before escaping German capture. After fierce fighting, the Allies secured the town by morning. Today, Sainte-Mère-Église symbolizes D-Day bravery, with tributes like a parachute on the church and museums honoring the liberation.

Great experience at Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery
Tom_E, Dec 2024
The most memorable points of interest were Pointe du Hoc and the American Cemetery. We also visited Gold Beach, Arromanches, the Overlord Museum and Bayeux, It was all very special. Sunny made sure we got to experience what we wanted and she and Mo were very considerate of our time and making sure we had a great experience….which we did.
