Pass byPort De Saint-jean-De-Luz.
Departure: Port of Saint-Jean-de-Luz Mythical port of the Basque Country, today fishing still remains the main activity there.
Pass byLa Corniche Basque
We will follow the Basque cornice, a protected natural area, located between Hendaye and Ciboure. Today the hiking trail that winds around this cliff is closed to the public because of its fragility. We will have the chance to discover these Flysch cliffs from the sea.
Pass byJaizkibel
Then head towards Hondarribia and therefore the start of the Spanish coast. Hondarribia is home to one of the most important fishing ports on the Basque coast. A little further on we will discover the bay of Los Frailes and the Amuitz islet, the water there is often transparent and very calm.
Stop atPasaia
We will continue the boat trip along the Jaizkibel, between Hondarribia and Pasaia. This mountain range is none other than the beginning of the Pyrenees chain. The landscapes are sumptuous and certain coves are only accessible by boat, a change of scenery guaranteed! We will also observe unique geological formations in the rock, 45 million years old and called Paramudras.
30 minutes (approx.)・No admission tickets required
Pass byChateau Observatoire Abbadia
On the return trip, the boat trip will continue with a visit to Loya Bay, a small French pearl accessible only by sea and dominated by Abbadia Castle. It was Antoine d'Abbadie, a French traveler and astronomer, who had this castle built between 1864 and 1870.
Pass byRochers des deux Jumeaux
Below the castle, we can admire the 2 Jumeaux, emblematic rocks. These two sentinels who watch over the open sea have resisted the onslaught of the ocean.
Pass byFort De Socoa
We will take a short detour to the port of Socoa dominated by its fort, a historical treasure of the Basque country and witness to a rich and captivating history.

A Magical Basque Coast Adventure!
Tristan_F, Dec 2024
This afternoon boat trip from Saint-Jean-de-Luz was amazing! Exploring the pristine Basque coastline, far from tourist crowds and cars, was a dream. We swam in hidden coves, snorkeled, paddled, and were thrilled to spot dolphins! With only few passengers and friends, it felt personal and special. Highly recommend for a unique and serene experience!

It was a good boat ride. But no mention of snorkelling gear or kayaks on the tour.
We also were not given the offer of a drink soda or water on the trip.
The tour was also changed at the last minute.

Exciting and quiet.

Very nice experience, whizzing over the water, swimming,... . Exciting and quiet at the same time. The explanation Paul gave was cool (not too much, not too little).
