    Itinerary

This is a typical itinerary for this product

    Stop atTartine & Co Louvre

Your first stop is an authentic French bakery, where you’ll get to taste some buttery French “viennoiseries” (such as “croissants”or “pain au chocolat”). As well, taste the famous baguette “Jambon Beurre," one of the French people’s favorite “on-the-go” meals, a ham sandwich made of the fresh UNESCO listed baguette sliced open, spread with salty butter and filled with slices of delicous ham.

    Stop atJean-Paul Hévin Chocolatier Pâtissier

Your next stop will be one of France’s most acclaimed French pastry chefs and chocolatiers where you’ll get to taste the fabulous Macarons, a sweet meringue-based confection, which was introduced in France by the Italian chef of Queen Catherine de Medici during the Renaissance. You’ll also get to learn about the “Meilleur Ouvrier de France” title, a unique and prestigious award granted to the best French craftsmen every four years.

Stop atLa Fromagerie du Louvre Paris 1er

After those sweet stops, time to savor some of the finest French cheeses in one of the capital’s best Cheese shops! In 1962, French President Charles de Gaulle asked, "How can you govern a country which has two hundred and forty-six varieties of cheeses?”; Not an easy task indeed! But no worries, we have selected the very best ones for you!

Once your taste buds have been properly acquainted, you will have time to enjoy a sit-down meal at one of our favorite wine bars in Paris: a place completely and utterly dedicated to wine lovers. You’ll get to sample authentic cheese and charcuterie with some excellent French wine to go with it. Each offering will contain something unique and compelling that the French like to call “terroir”! You’ll then get to taste a surprise dish that originates from the French cafés in the early 1900s!

    Stop atPralus

Craving dessert? First, we’ll go on a brief digestive stroll, so you get to explore the most famous market street of Paris which is home to the pastry shop of King Louis the XV. Your morning tour ends on a sweet note as you will visit the shop of another award-winning French craftsman, a multigenerational family-run business that created a very special brioche which you will be sure to enjoy and remember!

Food tour w John is a must!

Lori_P, Dec 2024

The food tour with John was fantastic! Great food and conversation. Highly recommend. If I could separate the review stars John would be 5 stars!!

We also had skip the line Louvre -which I would give 3 stars. Skip the line was great. The group size was too large and therefore very slow moving. We had Addie as guide. She was hard to hear. I recommend to her that she annunciates better and uses a better mic. We left her narrated tour 10 mins in.

Fabulous

We love the food tour! Becky was our tour guide and she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We were able to visit a number of small local businesses with amazing food and wine. It was such a great way to experience Paris. Our tour of the Louvre was ok-but it was extremely crowded (which was not the tour guides fault). You could tell our guide had a passion for art, but in such a huge collection he spent way too much time on one or two pieces of art.

Worth Every Penny

The gourmet food tour is a must to do! Our guide Becky was like walking around the city with a friend plus very informative and fun. My favorite tour of my trip. Small group is the best.

Omar was our Lourve tour guide . He made each piece of art he spoke about feel like I was back in Art History class with the much needed gossip about each piece to hold your attention and want more.

I would not try to do either of these on your own! Hire a tour guide.

Food/Wine tours are a great option

ericasP9429TR, Dec 2024

Our food tour guide, Becky was so sweet and fun to see the city with. She had lots of knowledge on the food and restaurants we visited. She even gave us a great dinner recommendation which we loved. I would highly recommend the food tour.

In the afternoon, we had a guided group tour through the Louvre with a different tour guide. The Louvre tour guide was knowledgeable but I wouldn’t say very friendly. She seemed very stressed. We learned a lot about the Louvre so it was still an interesting experience.

Will not be disappointed adding the food tour to your Louvre tour!

Loved the guided food tour to the quaint boulangeries, fromagerie and wine bar. Evie our tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable. She shared her experience living in Paris and was very interested in getting to know us while touring. Really enjoyed the fromagerie and the presentation from the gentleman in the cheese shop. Best part of course is the wine at the end of the tour!

There was about an hour break in between the two tours to enjoy the area. The Louvre is definitely a busy area and recommend a tour if only spending an afternoon there. Our tour guide (sorry - cannot remember her name) was very nice and knowledgeable as well. The museum is magnificent and can be a bit overwhelming (in a good way). The tour guide did a great job highlighting the popular pieces of art. I felt that she also did well 'reading' her tour group and kept up the pace throughout the museum. The length of this tour was perfect for us.

Would definitely recommend this combined tour. Thank you City Wonders for a wonderful experience.
