Stop atAu Tour Du Vin Tours
The tour starts at your hotel in Lyon at 9:15 -10:00 visit and tasting at the first winery. In this family run winery , we will appreciate the view of the steep hillside where Syrah and Viognier grapes produce the great Cote Rôtie and Condrieu wines. -11:30 visit at the second family run winery where after a short tour of production facility and aging cellar, we will enjoy the tasting of numerous AOC wines and analyse the nuances coming from their growing place that we French call Terroir. - 13:00 lunch in a restaurant where local dishes will be served. You will try some flavorful food paired with wines if you wish to. -14:30 visit of the last winery of the tour. In one of the oldest winery of the area, we will conclude this tour with more wines paired with a plate of cheese. We will appreciate a superb trio of Saint Joseph and a beautiful Côte Rôtie for a delightful final - 17:00: drop off at your hotel

Tasting with a Somm

We absolutely loved our tour of the Norther Rhone with Olivier! During our time with Olivier, we got to explore three different wineries in the Norther Rhone region, where he was both guide and teacher. Tasting with Olivier is an amazing experience because he not only knows the wines, but also the winemaking process and importance of terroir. He was a wealth of information, and it was fun getting to learn about the winmaking process, expecially at the larger wineries.

The best wine tour we have been on. Olivier was friendly and knowledgeable about the region and the wines.
We went as two couples and had a fantastic time.
We visited two vineyards in the morning where we saw toured the vines and production, and then went onto taste a variety of wines. The tour was really generous with the variety and quality of wines we tasted and we learned so much from Olivier about the wines.
We then stopped for a fantastic lunch (outside terrace overlooking the river with classic French cooking) followed by a beautiful viewpoint of the Rhone valley. Before a final vineyard stop before going back to Lyon for the end of the day.
The vehicle was super comfortable, Olivier answered all of our questions about wine (and we asked a lot!) and we got to taste up to 8 wines at each vineyard.

As someone who worked on a vineyard and for a wine importer, I was hesitant to go the tour route. Olivier was excellent! He really knows his stuff, from vineyard work, wine making, wine tasting, etc. And, although this tour focused on the northern Rhone, he has a much wider range of wine knowledge that added to the tour. Besides the wine, Olivier provided historical context and insights that kept things interesting. My family also enjoyed the day. Highly recommend!

What an incredible experience. Olivier wasn't just our driver - he was a true wine expert, and someone that you could tell enjoyed what he does for a living. Olivier helped to expand our knowledge of great wines and of the families and wine producers behind them. It was educational and incredibly enjoyable. We are hopeful to have Olivier guide us again in the future.
