Private excursion to Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits (full day)

What a fabulous day we had on the Bourgogne Gold wine tour. This was the highlight of our visit to the Burgundy region, and we would heartily recommend it.

First, we are wine enthusiasts, not experts but Youri, our guide and owner of the business, explained the intricacies of wine classifications, and terminologies such as domaine, climat, terroir, etc., in a clearly expressed and entertaining way - all against the backdrop of the famous grand cru vineyards of the Côte d’Or.

From there, we went on to a series of three private tastings with a break for lunch. (Note that the team selects an appropriate lunch venue and manages all arrangements, including booking your table and transporting you to and from the restaurant. For us, they chose the superb Hotel Le Montrachet in Puligny Montrachet. The cost of lunch is not included in the package.)

This is a VIP experience. You are transported in a luxury vehicle by a knowledgeable guide. This business has extensive contacts with the region’s producers and can organise quite exceptional, and unique tastings.

Additionally, we appreciated Fabien’s responsiveness to our email inquiries during the planning process.

Our day tour of Burgundy was amazing! David was a thoughtful and attentive guide, we saw three high quality wine producers and enjoyed an exceptional lunch along the vineyards. I would love a replay of this day anytime!

I did three days of private tours whilst travelling solo, with David as my guide. I visited Chablis, Cote de Nuits and Cote de Beaune.

It was the most incredible way to experience a large sample of Burgundy in a few days, tasting well over 60 wines in that time! We visited some larger plus some very small producers and tasted a wide range of appellations and climats.

David was extremely knowledgeable, great company, has excellent English and worked really hard to make it a very special experience.

A trip I’ll never forget, thank you!

We spent an incredible day in Burgundy with Fabien, who is so knowledgeable and VERY funny. He started out the day by informing of us some of the basics of the region as we drove through the most spectacular villages and vineyards. Our first wine tasting in Nuits Saint Georges felt very exclusive because we were the only visitors at this particular winery and our wine tasting was done in the cellar used as the family's tasting room (it was beautiful!). We had an outstanding lunch at Restaurant Le Soufflot de Meursault that Fabien arranged (excellent choice!). We then engaged in two additional wine tastings before the day was over. In addition to learning more about each of the wines we tasted, we were able to try some different high quality wines that we don't normally see in our local wine stores. It goes without saying that each of the wines was outstanding. I guess the proof of that is in the 3 cases of wine we purchased. What a special day this was - it was better than we imagined it would be in every way. If you are wondering whether you should reserve this experience - do it without hesitation. We had an amazing experience with Fabien in Burgundy. We were picked up in a comfortable luxury van and taken throughout the Cote de Nuits and Cote de Beaune. We visited several wineries, both mid-sized and small. Fabien shared his expertise and joie de vive with us the entire day. We will return for another trip with Burgundy Gold!
