Staying in London but wanted to introduce our daughter to Paris and took the train for a one day trip.. I purchased 4 tickets through Trip Advisor a couple of weeks before the trip but only got the link to get the trip voucher the day before (at hotel in London). No time or ability to print vouchers do the only choice was to try to find a Big Bus sales booth as drivers can’t use the digital form. In London, not a big deal as it’s easy to find and very visible. Not so in Paris. You have to guess where the sales booth might be, then figure out how to get there. The bus drivers don’t know or can’t understand what you are asking. We did finally spot the place late that afternoon from the taxi taking us back to the train station. I thought the bus would be a great way to get a nice overview of the city, but it was just a couple of hundred wasted dollars and a lot of frustration. Refunds only available before the day of the reservation.

We had been walking a lot so it was a pleasure sitting on the top deck on a beautiful day to get a good overview of the city. I turned off the audio half way through as it was too garbed for me to understand most of it. My wife hung in there and could understand more but we both felt the commentary was centered too much on the upcoming Paris Olympics.

The tour operator couldn’t find our reservation so we couldn’t do the tour. Viator, however, did a great job refunding our money.

For someone who is visiting Paris, it was difficult to find the bus stops. They are not clearly marked and this caused us to lose time.

Once on the bus, the audio tour was too simple and short. I listened more to music than information about the place. The audio only said “the next stop is such and such” but I didn't know if the bus stopped because the traffic light was on red or because that was the stop to hop off. The driver should announce every stop numbered in the map and give some time to the people that is in the upper deck to walk safely on the bus. A few times we tried to hop off but, the bus started moving. This also caused a loss of time. The route does not reach the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, which is very disappointing. Overall I will not take this tour again.
