Super !

Super experience orchestrated by our super skipper JJ (Jerome). Adrenaline, sensation, emotion combined with very useful historical and scientific insights. Nice Corsican music and correct dose of humor in the background… merci beaucoup, JJ, you are the best ! Tonight you added 4 Belgians to your fanclub !!!
Great scenery but big safety concerns and would’ve appreciated greater clarity on time spent racing around the coast

I had wanted to visit this area since seeing it on Simon Reeve’s series on the Mediterranean. The spectacular scenery and breathtaking beauty exceeded our expectations. I would urge anyone with an interest in conservation or geology to go and gaze in wonder.
However, we made the wrong choice in going with this organiser which took the shine off the experience. There are many organised tours of varying lengths on different types of boat but this one was 3.25 hours on a RIB. We have done sightseeing tours on RIBS in Canada and thought we knew what to expect. We also booked the trip based on the guide giving information in English and on both fronts we were disappointed. The weather was sunny but there was a moderate wind on the day and the sea was quite choppy. We had no safety briefing before the tour started and were not offered any form of buoyancy aid. We weren’t asked about our swimming ability - I can’t swim. We left Porto as a slow pace but once out of the harbour, the guide opened up the throttles and we were hitting the waves with extreme force and it just wasn’t pleasurable and frankly didn’t feel safe. I would guess that at least an hour of the tour was spent at high speed crashing round the coast and for the areas where we did slow to a pace where you could actually see the sights, taking photos was difficult because of the sea swell and the fear of losing your camera over the side. None of the commentary was given in English so we just had to enjoy the views and store them to memory rather than have pictures to look back on.
I’m not saying that this trip wouldn’t have appealed to some but it really wasn’t for us. I think everyone should be made aware that even in not overly choppy seas, you are clinging on just to stay in the boat. It really is an accident waiting to happen. Both my husband and I (who are both really fit) were suffering with back and shoulder pain after the trip after being thrown around the sea in what almost felt like a bit of ‘showing off’. I do say to all visitors to Corsica you should do a tour of this area - it is spectacular. Just choose the type of boat that will suit your requirements and if you want some level of comfort, want to be sure of your personal safety and the ability to take photos, don’t go for a trip on a RIB.
Amazing

We had so much fun with our guide and his dog! It was plenty of time to explore all the parts of Piana, Scandola, and the cute Girolata village or fishermen and shepherds. Highly recommend!
Little trip to paradise!!
