Originally localized in the Cordeliers area, since 1859, but finally moved close to the « Part Dieu » area in the beginning of the 70’, this market is today considered as « the place to be » for gourmets. Here people from all over the world come to discover some of the institutions, to try the food of the french capital of gastronomy, and to feel a very typical atmosphere. With this tour, we offer you to learn more about the History : have you ever heard about the story of « Les mères lyonnaises » ? The women who created the food identity that the City of Lyon is so proud nowadays : La Mère Richard, La Mère Brazier, or La Mère Vitté …. By joining our adventure you will only find fresh fish stalls, oysters, fruits and vegetables plenty of colors, and you will have the opportunity to share directly with the merchants . « Les halles paul bocuse » is a place for shopping, but first of all a place to have a good time. Well worth taking this tour! Very good and knowledgeable guides! The food samples and tastings were incredible.

This is a wonderful deed food market with soo many vendors and beautiful vegetables, flowers, cheeses and so much more. I found the vendors very friendly and the freshness of everything was so dun.
Outstanding Food Market

Our Food Market Tour of Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse was an enjoyable experience. Our guide with Original Food Tours was friendly, knowledgeable, and very considerate of my nine-year-old granddaughter. It was interesting to learn some of the historical background that created Lyon’s reputation for fine food. I was unfamiliar with the Mères Lyonnaises “Mothers of Lyon French Gastronomy,” which included the legendary female chef Eugénie Brazier who gave Paul Bocuse his start. We had samples of cheese, cured deli meat, macaroons, oysters, bread, desserts, chocolate, and (of course) wine and champagne. I especially had fun watching my granddaughter eat her first raw oyster. I agree with another post that said it was almost too much food for one tour, and I generally don’t have that much wine and champagne before lunch. I would highly recommend this food tour for anyone visiting Lyon. The market is several blocks from the nearest metro stop, so I suggest taking a taxi or the bus to get there for us seniors.
Guide was a no-show - TWICE. Horrible service.

A friend purchased this tour as a birthday gift for me. When I arrived the first time in June, I had to call the company because the guide was no where to be found. I spoke with Elise and she advised that the guide was meant to message me to reschedule because he couldn't make it that day. I never received a message. I rescheduled for a date in July and waited 15 minutes before. I called Elise again... and she said "you didn't get my message?" A message was never received and that would be because she never sent it. She stated that the cancellation was due to a Covid contact within the school. I advised that I would be seeking a refund. I would give 0 stars if possible.
very disappointing experience

very unprofessional compagny. i just got a message the day before the the tour at "23:48" and they just cancelled the tour. in that message, they told me that the tour was cancelled because of an accident to the guide. But the next day, another person sent me a message that the tour was cancelled because of the sanitary conditions. I was quite upset because it was pretty obvious that they were lying.
