In the Footsteps of The French Chef (Julia Child) Food Tour

garethjz, Aug 2024

Our lovely guide Claire facilitated our private tour and walked us through the streets of Paris in the footsteps of the legendary Julia Child. Claire showed a passion for Paris, the city's history and culinary delights, as well as being very knowledgeable about the life and whereabouts of Julia Child during Julia's time in Paris.

Our food sampling experience began with a stop for delicious crepes, galette and cider. This was followed by a stop for Quiche Lorraine, then another for a beautiful artisanal ham and cheese baguette in awesome simplicity, then chocolate tasting, eclairs and finally cheese and wine. The tour followed a logical program with historical stops in between food tastings. Claire was able to integrate Parisian history with Julia's experiences.

We loved learning about the different origins of the food we sampled as well as of the pride the French have for their food and where it comes from. Claire was also able to provide plenty of clarification about our general questions about the language, food and life in Paris as a local Parisian.

Conversation was easy, engaging and enjoyable. We loved viewing Paris through a different lens and will definitely look out for similar tours next time we are lucky to be in Paris again.

A Solid Food Experience

Bryan_D, Apr 2024

A solid food tour offering the classic cuisine and a pleasant walk through the Latin Quarter and St. Germain. The guide was friendly and pleasant. There could have been a bit more history on Julia to add some flavor. I would recommend.
