Amazing experience, out of the ordinary

You won't see the classic "distillery" but a real castle full of history. Kings and other famous figures dwelled the place, and every room has something to tell. Cognac was superb,of course.
Fine cognac
NemoTraveler, Dec 2024
The Chateau is located near Pont Neuf at the River Charente in Cognac. It is an ancient structure dating from the 10th century and also the home of famous cognac brands Baron Otard and D’Ussé.
A number of different tours are available in English and other languages and we booked the tour “In the heart of the Chateau”. It took about 1 hour and was both a historic tour, which took us to some of the historic rooms of the Chateau and also gave good information about the production of the famous cognacs in the vast cellars of the castle.
At the end of the tour it was possible to taste the products, both traditionally and as a cocktail. Our excellent guide was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the fascinating history of the Chateau and the cognacs.

We're delighted that you liked the balance between history and expertise in cognac, and more specifically in our BARON OTARD and D'USSÉ brands!
Cognac tour of manufacturers.

Very nice to do a tour of the Cognac makers of France.
Loads of history and our guide really knew his stuff.
Included tastings.
No real examination of the bottling process - just a poster on a wall.
One thing you must do when in Cognac.

Thank you for your feedback ! Indeed, the bottling process is not part of our tour ..

Very informative tour. The guide did a very good job considering the large number in the group 40+ being my only criticism.

This is the cognac house to visit

We had an exceptional experience with our guide Silvie, who turned what could have been a bad experience into a memorable one. Silvie was very knowledgeable about the rich history of the house, the region, and of cognac. We would recommend a visit!
